PMDG 737NGX SP1 && PMDG 737-600/700 Release Schedule

If you know 100% that you CAN'T do what you say you will on the date you say it will be done, then you have zero business giving us a date in the first place.
As Robert always posts next to any possible dates, It always says Subject to Change. What part of that do you not understand? It means if they feel its not ready then that particular date is out the window.

So, yet again, let me repeat myself. That's fine if that "Subject to Change" date changes. Just give us notice of that before the date comes and goes. How hard is that to understand???

I really think a majority of you would complain if you got hung with a new rope.. "It chafe's". It's frustrating to wait, but complaining about it won't help it come out any faster. If PMDG didn't provide the quality they did and just through products out there without regards to fixing issues then they'd be another Flight Sim company now wouldn't they?

Lighten up on the guy. All he is suggesting, is that PMDG notify us when a deadline isn't going to be met instead of keeping us hanging in the dark. I happen to think that this is a very valid point. I understand that family members come first, but I'm sure that there is someone on the team that could take two minutes to fill us in on the details. Best Regards,Robert

Seriously they do not owe you anything whether its updates or releasing on a specific date. Whenever they are ready to share something they will. And all the complaining in the world is not gonna get you what you want.

Paul Deemer

Exactly which part of Robert's post that opened this thread did you get that impression from? As I, and I'd assume most of the rest of us understood, the date was pushed due mainly to an unexpected crisis. Lighten up dude... you're treating a bunch of guys like they're a Fortune 500 company... many of them have other work outside of PMDG, not to mention lives.
Superbly assessed and put. +1

They don't "owe" us anything. But they could make this all moot by just not throwing any dates out there then or keeping us in the loop when they do reference a date. One way or the other and we're not having this argument. What they are doing now is a pain for people like me who don't appreciate it nor think it's good practice and for people like you who feel the need to argue just for the sake of arguing. Can we at least agree this is a valid point? If you give a date, keep us posted as to that date. No, you are not OBLIGATED or you do not OWE us anything. But, it sure is the right thing to do to keep us informed then on this date that you mentioned. Otherwise just don't give dates. That's what we are frustrated about. One way or the other, not this in between stuff.

Well then maybe they will come on later and say SP1 is delayed until further notice and we are not saying when it is coming out. Goodbye!

I would have liked to have seen the 150 + 50 cures due in SP1 as promised, or an update for the reason we didn't get it. But you know what? I don't get everything that I want. That is the difference with the younger generation. (I'm assuming they are the younger generation. They certainly act like it.) They think they are owed everything they want. Hopefully someday, they will learn differently and grow up.

That would be better than another date, say next week Oct 28, only to have Oct 28 come and go again without a new update to it saying we're pushed back another week.

This has nothing to do with "owe"-ing anything to anyone really. Again, they don't OWE us a darn thing. But it would be right, proper, appropriate(whatever word you want to use here) of them to give an update about a date they threw out there. They more or less create the expectation of anything being "owed", if you want to say it that way, when they themselves mention dates. They are subject to change and again, I'm fine with that. We know already. Just let us know before the date comes and goes!!! Again, that is the single point I'm trying to make here. Some people out there...Just because you don't really care to see the actual point that is trying to be made here does not make us "whiny children" that think we are owed everything.

At least we know it will be released Oct 25th!

Yes, I have to agree, putting out a post that states a date(in fact suggested that was maybe the latest we would see it) also posting that during the weekend of that post that further info would be available on the fixes and then not only not posting the update bt also letting the suggested date come and pass with no further communication, is fairly poor customer relations.It's not about what they owe or us, or even about the demand that the items, sp, or whatever is released now. It's simply a case of good communication.There are plenty of "whiners" as someone says, and yes you'll never please everyone, but this poor customer relation and communication, helps feed the whiners and even nearly gives justification to their rants.We are all aware of the personal issues some members of the team are facing, and also aware that a lot of time and energy is being put into the sp and new models, and yes we accept that team members spending hours on the forums isn't going to help get that work done. However, a large number of posts on this forum wouldn't be made if the promised list of fixes was posted, as users wold be aware it's a known issue and being worked on, it would also mean any bugs or problems users are having that aren't part of the sp at present could be posted and seen by the team(I'd imagine would also reduce number of tickets) it takes seconds to edit or add to a post, and could be done by any member of the team who as less pressing issues to deal with, where they could simply and quickly update on the progress(in fact something Ryan did right at the beginning when the ngx was released)Communication is everything, and in fact good communication fixes more things than actual actions does..it would help both the winers and the more sensible posters understand where things are at, be aware of the product limitations, and aware of a rough time scale that they be fixed. Or what alternatives should be used.I don't feel I'm owed anything for my 70bucks, I just feel we'd have a far more civil forum, and a more effective one for those that come here for support and help with any issues they have, or just want to learn or understand something new about the ngx. Rather than wadding through post on post of those who just enjoy the ability to argue behind the protection of the forum, or feel they are part of PMDG or AVSIM.

Regards

James speaks pretty much identical to what I'm thinking - I've never once moaned about the customer service but it is true that really it doesn't have to be some massive essay or dissertation or whatever ... just an update would be good - just look at any company nowadays with Twitter or social media, they tell us when they are eating lunch for gods sake!Now I'm not asking to know what Robert or anyone else in the team is having for lunch but just a little update would be nice :)
