Are Simmers just a bunch of whining little panzies?

It seems like some simmers act as if they're going to loose sleep, if everything is not 100% perfect.

Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

If Flight ends up being garbage, then you can stick with a mature product like FSX and you're no worse off than you were before. Or if you're really craving something new, you can try the many other excellent flightsimming titles out there like DCS A-10 Thunderbolt or Rise of Flight, for example. Who knows, you might enjoy X-Plane 10 (if it ends up being any good). If Flight doesn't deliver, the universe will continue to exist.

Yes sure but you have to consider than some speculations in a forum have to exist, some ideas, opinions and discussions as well, after all forums are made just for that smile.png

STOP BEING LOGICAL! We'll have none of that here. :)

Agreed. However the degree of "frothing at the mouth" posts, fellow simmer in-fighting, and an almost disturbing level of anxiety over a virtually unseen product seems to far outnumber any actual "discussions" around here.

Haha sorry, I forgot I was on the internet!I just mean that if Flight fails, others will step in to fill the void, as they always do.Even a niche market like flightsimming is an efficient (and viable) one.

I too will admit to being disappointed in the tone these forums have taken as of late, with the vitriolic back and forth between grown men arguing over the finest of points of a pretend-flying program that has not even been released and one that has just been released.I don't know, it's not like it's heart surgery or something. The anonymity of the internet makes people entirely too bold. I always used to tell myself, "Never argue with someone over politics, religion, or sports teams." I guess I can add Flight-Sim preferences to that list...

You can't add Flight simming to your list otheriwse what are you doing in a flight simulation forum ?Ooops, you are right sorry, Flight can't be considered a simulation so you are coherent with your statement.

So true. Some people make it seem if Flight is a failure, life will come to a screeching halt. ROFL

At least bother to read the news releases or FAQ page. If you did, you could easily see that that assumption, based on no facts, is false.

For the most part, yes

Since you brought up WoW, not sure if you know, but most of WoW's subscribers are gold farmers who work in sweat shops. When WoW was banned from China for a short while, Blizzard saw it's subscriber base go from 11 million to 6 million. There has also been a decline in subscribers since Cataclysm came out. The amount of subscribers is also based off of account numbers, inactive, active, or otherwise. Not the total active accounts of people actually playing the game.I guess what I'm trying to say is you don't need 11 million players to be successful. In a business sense, as long as the game makes a profit, that's all Microsoft is interested in. For them FSX was a huge success. I'm sure Flight will be as well.

Sure. From the FAQ:Q:How does “Microsoft Flight” differ from “Flight Simulator?” Why the new name? What’s changed?A:With “Microsoft Flight” we’re approaching the virtual flight genre from the ground up, with the focus on the universal appeal of the experience of Flight. We believe the simplicity of “Microsoft Flight” perfectly captures that vision while welcoming the millions of existing Flight Simulator fans. The new “Microsoft Flight” retains the full fidelity simulation longtime fans have come to expect while offering all players a whole new look and feel, a wide range of new game play and challenges, persistent experiences and social connectivity. Now, could you please show me where it says arcade? Then again, I guess Flight will have plenty of 'gaming' elements to please the newcomers. These can ofcourse be seen as 'arcade'.

Cheers, Bert
