2. The ground related graphics (roads, railroads, taxiways, runways etc.) are not good.
Thanks for your feedback. One of the common things we have heard is how good the runways and taxiways are in AS2012. I wonder if there is something affecting your results here? There are a ton of different runway/taxiway textures, in all kinds of styles. Did you try different ones?

Hi Damian,I did try some of the other options but didn't find anything that looked as good as what I was using. I also had a fellow flight simmer come over and got his impression which was the same as mine. There may be something odd about the way my system is displaying the graphics though. Do the screen shots look familiar? Or is my system "doing it's own thing" with the textures in AS2012?The new weather engine is great though. I'm still experimenting with it. But so far, it's a winner.

Hi Bill honestly it's hard to evaluate with the small size of the shots. I'm just surprised on your feedback given how many positive reports of how different and good our runway/taxiway textures are, of course its subjective though. Maybe some others could comment on their impressions of the same.

Unfortunately, as much as I supported AS in my past (I bought each and every product since they exist I think), I must say I also don't like the looks of those ground textures, even if it's the one texture only.I can only hope that there are more convincing textures to be found in AS2012.With Flight knocking on the door, I'll be thinking good about any significant purchases until we know for sure what's going on. ASE is OK, I just gotta think hard about AS2012...

Regarding download times - even though SimMarket warns about slow times, I didn't find them all that slow (use server #4). It is a large package but not too bad. Of course I have a high-speed cable modem (usual download speed - 1.8Mb/sec) so I got them pretty fast. I downloaded the files in the late evening. There's a whole lot of good stuff in this release so check it out.Frank

Was wondering myself about the same thing. I also saw REX update just today. Ontop of that a free one.

I'm a little surprised that I haven't seen any screenshots of AS2012 in action.

Andrew, I should have been more precise. Screenshots from those who have just purchased AS2012.

Seems like my posts got deleted. Black%20Eye.gif Leaves your answer a bit lonely, that's why I mention it.Thanks for the first user reports so far.I'm still looking for some folks testing the interpolation of weather data, which means e. g. flying to lesser dense or remote areas where the weather engine has only limited data from the rw and therefore must 'guess' everything in between. That's the point where ASE failed for me, as 'interpolation' meant some 'add 20C' at some places, which was way off. So if AS2012 is better in this aspect, it would be a nice read and purchase I guess. However, take your time folks, the thing is just a day old, right?

Some shots here by me... Not the best but I think you can have an idea.

Thanks Fritz. That helps a lot.

Pleasure Mike.Nice things to know about AS2012 so far :- Overall the "weather scape" is better than ASE IMHO... GREAT 360° immersion.- It is also smoother than ASE...- There is ZERO wind shift with DWC + the latest FSUIPC version... You don't even to check a thing in FSUIPC's options.- The textures are nice yet different from REX and/or FEX...- Clouds seem to never pop up... They appear smoothly. Very nicely done!
