January 3, 201214 yr Dang look at the SIZE of those engines! Bloody hell!If I remember properly, I read somewhere a long time ago that the 777 has some of the largest engines in proportion to it's body than any other commercial aircraft.I too am looking forward eagerly for the 777. :( Thanks!Nick CrateChief Executive OfficerFedEx Virtual Air Cargo
January 3, 201214 yr 737 + 777 = perfect FS combination. Fly BCN-LHR one day LHR-NRT the next. The 777-200LR is what I really want. I enjoyed the PSS 777LR for FS9 even though it was not the greatest. Nothing like having the computer running all night flying MIA-Mumbai while you sleep and still having 8 more hours to go when you wake up :D Edited January 3, 201214 yr by miami747 Steven Herzberg, "I rather be flying"
January 3, 201214 yr Nice pic!According to wikipedia:GE90-115B overall diameter 3.43 m 737 NG diameter 3.76 mCRJ 700-900 diameter 2.7 m Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.
January 3, 201214 yr Something is wrong with this picture you just painted. The 737 has a larger diameter than the 777, I don't think so! Edited January 3, 201214 yr by pride545
January 3, 201214 yr Should that be my new Facebook timeline picture? :( i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
January 3, 201214 yr Something is wrong with this picture you just painted. The 737 has a larger diameter than the 777, I don't think so!Seems you are right i did some researchGE90-115bDiameter: overall: 134 in (3,404 mm)Boeing 737 fuselage dimensions Cabin width (m) 3.53 3.53 3.53 3.53 3.53 3.53 3.53 3.53 3.53 All 737's classics orginals and NG's have the same diameter. But admit it 3.4 meters is Huge.Alltrough the GE90-115B holds a record look below. RecordsAccording to the Guinness Book of Records, at 127,900 lbf (569 kN), it holds the record for the highest thrust (though it is rated at 115,300 lbf (513 kN)). This thrust record was accomplished inadvertently as part of a one-hour, triple-red-line engine stress test. In order to accommodate the increase in torsional stresses an entirely new steel alloy (GE1014) had to be created and then machined to extreme tolerances.[9] The new record was set during testing of a GE90-115B development engine at GE Aviations' Peebles Test Operation, which is an outdoor test complex outside Peebles, Ohio. It eclipsed the engine's previous Guinness world record of 122,965 pounds of thrust.[10]Just think of it the engines of the 747-400 have a combined trust of 232000lb. means that the 777 with the GE90-115b(255800lb.) has more power then the 747-400 has. That's really incredible. January 6, 201214 yr Sometimes replacement radomes come in all types of strange paint jobs. And for the record, most GE90-115B operators derate the engines to 110,000 lbs. of thrust to save on further wear and tear. Allan Burek
