Will You Purchase Flight?

I'd like to write no in every single language available but I have better things to do.

I am still investing heavily in fsx. I hope to give xpx and aerofly a go. And i will certainly looking forward to seeing what flight is actually like for ga flying. Should be fun.

I think buy as you go is only as good as the quality of the add on. Who gets to make the add on, will it be an open or closed policy, thus a Flight monopoly or a competitive market? If Flight does a fantastic job, with low prices for scenery everyone wins. I would gather they will welcome the resources of 2nd party developers and the end product will be a high quality. I just spent a truckload of coin with Orbx, so I am use to paying for quality, but it is a death of a thousand cuts just to fly a flight sim ... sigh......

Price would matter to some as well; would you be willing to pay $1000.00 to be able to fly all of North America?

I am in 110% agreement. I feel like a cow being milked every time I want an add on. I should be buying furniture and upgrades for my home rather than a sim. What I should do is try Flight for free, and stay in Hawaii. Use the the "add on payware" money for beer.

Surely most of you buy payware? Ive got no problem in theory buying it from the ms store. If the dlc is quality im happy to pay. If its $100, $200 to upgrade to a full sim, thats ok. Dont think it going to happen though.Im just not convinced that ms has plans to focus on 'normal', realistic aviation. And i dont see evidence that the quality payware developers are planning to support this.

Completely dependent on what the "additional regions" will be, how much they are, etc.If the regions are like half the US, with the free Hawaii part just providing a demo of the game, then yeah. I would. If it's like just cities, or the grand canyon. Then no.

No. I will stay with FSX and keep looking at Prepar3D.
-----------------------------------------You said it, brother!
Not on day one. BUT I hear after hawaii they will be releasing the Vatican soaring scenery followed by the eastern Iraq area addon. Oh yeah baby, then I'm getting it for sure!
-----------------------------------------------------Mike, you owe me a new monitor...mine now has spewed coffee on it! Man...THAT was funny! Thanks for that..... :)Mitch

Nope, I'm done with Microsoft. I have already left FSX for X-Plane 10. After seeing what Microsoft is doing with Flight, I'm done with Microsoft. I will probably not even bother with the free Hawaii. If I wanted to play a "game", I'd just go fire up my Xbox360.

Also, what about freeware? Thanks to the community there are some great free add-ons. Will be be allowed to easily install freeware and/or modify existing stuff as we do now? Or will there be some sort of mechanism to stop all of that.
Excellent point, isn't MS FS freeware the historical foundation upon which many core simmers today became more interested in the hobby? It was for me, although it occurred back in the days of FS4 and 5. Still, it was instrumental for me. At the time, I wasn't interested enough to pay for extra content, but I was interested enough to download all manner of interesting freeware to upgrade the experience, which in turn got me to the point where I was willing to invest $$ in the hobby.

I may well download the FREE startup version of MS Flight, but I doubt that I will pay for any "additional content" (Christ, it's already starting to sound like a console whorehouse). By the way, since the release version of MS Flight will only include "the big island of Hawaii", I assume this means that Oahu (screenshots of which have already been shown) will not be included for free?

What will USD80 (cost of X-plane v10) buy in Flight ?A partial baby is not what I need, want or am interested in.If not USD80, how much for a complete "entire world package" with tradional number of aircraft bundled (as they were in FSX) ?

Will I purchase Flight? Well, after owning nearly all FS versions since FS4, I have to make this clear: NO, I will NOT purchase MS Flight. End of story.
