??? Imho Aerofly is very similar to Flight, only a lot more limited in the sim part...! I don't understand how you can call Aerofly a step in the right direction when Flight is offering the same but with more (sim) functionality...
"Flight was our last hope"... No, there is another.Aerofly is the way forward. A fresh start and from the looks of it, they're on the right track and off to a spectacular start. This from a company that's dedicated to building flight simulators and not a mega-conglomerate..I'll be ordering a copy today.

Brilliant!

This looks like what I've been wanting for a long time.. I got sick of the excuses everyone had with "but you can't compare a first person shooter graphics to a simulator since first person shooters are closed ended rendering distances". Why not? All I ever wanted FSX to be visually was that real 'sunlight' almost bleached out look like a Battlefield 3 would have. This achieves that. That is why FSX looked cartoony except at dusk. If this one had 3rd party add-on stuff like FSX but with the other things like better ATC etc that we wanted Flight to have then I'm all for it. Digital downloads of 20gigs plus are what I'm used to now. This is what games are moving to (the cloud). So 60 gig download for scenery? Who cares. Unless you are on dialup you can wait 8 hours for it. Just run it overnight.

I'm sure it's a fun little sim and everything, just like Vehicle Simulator is, but it's more comparable to Flight than MSFS or X-Plane.As for the scenery, it's your typical photographic scenery which does look less "cartoony", but also disintegrates into a Van Gogh painting at lower altitudes. If you want that kind of scenery, you can just get this for FSX, and use it together with your existing aircraft. It's based off the same photographic data.http://secure.simmar...ssional-x.phtml

it is early days yet for these guys but this shows huge potential which is more than you can say for flight. If they can include airliners and increase the size of the scenery area there may be no stopping them.

I am (sort of) repeating myself, but er... why does Aerofly FS have more potential then Flight...? I think it's the other way around. No one outside of our simming world knows about Aerofly FS and never will know about it. Everyone will know about Flight though. And when it comes to expansions, I am sure MS has a LOT more resources to give us the goods then the dev of Aerofly.
Yeah, it seems you are limited to Switzerland for now and theres no airliners, i wonder where there gonna go from there?
Austria !! :(

Dude, do you work for Microsoft or just have low standards? FLIGHT is is a poop idea for PCs. If it was an Xbox game, it might be suitable & very successful. The guys here want to fly realistic planes with super fab accurate avionics & a cutting edge graphics engine like Battlefield's Frostbyte. They have waited for a loooong time.Flight discarded features already existing in FSX to make a dumb downed 'game'. Aerofly is new, & hopefully is still planning on adding features. FLIGHT just wants to add more money to Ballmer's wallet.
Did I say Flight is great...? No. I am only saying that at this moment Flight, even the beta, offers more realism, which we all want, then Aerofly FS. That's simply the truth, so I don't understand why people who (already) hate Flight can say that Aerofly FS is better.... That simply doesn't make sense.

Even on the xbox as a console port, the gameplay looks incredibly weak and would struggle to keep the attention of their "target audience". Good luck trying to compete with Fruit Ninja as a free app...

I'm at CES next week. I'm gonna put the marketing guys on the spot if I get a chance to. "Hey, have you seen your Facebook page"? "Any reply to that"?

Aerofly FS flight model ?Aerofly too bad for first grade gamer ?Look at this :

The Aerofly sim looks great to me. The airports look detailed, and the mountains are stunning. Having 3d terrain around the airport with photo textures when you get to altitude seems like a good compromise. I don't usually love photo scenery, but this stuff looks great.Yeah, it's somewhat comparable to Flight in scope, but I'd rather fly though breathtaking photo-scenery mountains than autogen Hawaii, Plus, the flight modeling and physics looks really solid, and the atmospheric lighting is the best I've seen in a flight sim.A nice supplement to FSX, but certainly not a replacement or a magical solution for a complete next gen flight sim. Looking forward to opinions once it becomes available in the US.

This is amazing software and wow I wish something like this could be done for the entire world like fsx does man that would be incredible.
