Computer Pilot Magazine

Featured Replies

Has anyone else not received their January/February 2012 Computer Pilot issue? I have tried to contact CP twice with no response. Also, their website shows the latest issue as November/December 2011. A Google search did not provide any indication that the magazine had discountined publication. Any news would be appreciated.Thanks.JayGee

They always seemed to be delevered to me in California at the very end of their cycle when I used to subscribe. Jan-Feb would come at the end of Feb, Mar-April at the end of April, etc.

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

Only PDF version. Hardcopy not arrived yet (also in UK !)

It always takes 2-3 weeks after I get my PDF to get my hard copy. not as big a deal for me. I told them in the suggestions when I subscribed to not bother sending me the hard copy. Wish they offered a digital-only subscription. I wouldn't argue about paying less but I think they could certainly cut down on costs for them I would think

Can anybody send me the PDF version? I received the link on Feb 6th but hadn't downloaded it as I was waiting for the hard copy. I called PC Aviator to have them send me the PDF version and they sent me the link again. Only thing is that the link is now broken and no longer works. Would someone be willing to send me the PDF version? I tried to contact Francois (new owner) but I didn't get any reply yet. So far, I'm not impressed with the new ownership.

According to their website, there has been a change in ownership and publisher. Existing subscriptions will be continued and the first new issue will be the June/July one. Told me the same thing over the phone when I called them.Jim

there was an issue that was sent out electronically to all subscribers. Volume 16 issue 1 (Jan/Feb 2012 issue) The link to download the issue was sent by email on Feb 6. I never downloaded it and now the link is broken as the new owners took it over. PC Aviator would not print the issue so only the people that downloaded it would ever have it, in PDF form. Otherwise, it would be an issue that never was... I am looking for someone who has the PDF.

I have it as a PDF. It is over 19,000 kb. They sent it to me as a link in an e mail and I downloaded it. I am not sure of the legality of posting a link to it, or even how to do that.

This is a copy/ paste of a bulk e-mail that I received today:Dear Computer Pilot Subscriber,... and Hello from a new Publisher and new Editor. We hope this email finds you well.In fact, we hope it will find you beter than your recent experience with CPM has been.We are writing you because of the many requests we recieved over the past 2 weeks, after taking over Computer Pilot from its previous owner, Robert Ferraro of PC Aviator.Unfortunately we could not write you sooner, because we did not have a clear list of addresses. And quite frankly, we may still miss a few today.Allow me to answer some of the most frequently aksed questions first:1. Yes, we will honour and carry over existing subscriptions, IF we get them passed on from PC Aviator. And yes, there may be a hiatus between their last activities and our taking over on March 1st.2. Disagreements, claims and complaints pertaining to the period previous to March 1st are none of our business. Please contact PC Aviator in such cases. Sorry !3. For now we ONLY have 1 year subscriptions. If this changes, we'll notify you via our NEW website and newsletters.4. There will not be a printed Jan/Feb issue I'm afraid. Nor wiill there be ANY issues between now and June/July, when we will be releasing our very first NEW Computer Pilot.(Obviously it would have been correct if PC Aviator had informed their readers of these facts through a letter in the mail, but alas, that hasn't happened.)
