1 person having a 757 for himself? And what's up with the 24k gold all over it?!?Kinda reminds me of the Saudi Arabian prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, who has a Boeing 747, an Airbus A321, a Hawker Siddeley 125, and he has an order for a Airbus A380...Really? These people have no where else to spend their money. I can't even afford a 1977 Cessna 172.

Waste of money.....

If I could afford my own 757 I would absolutely buy one. I would also take a 727 as well.If you have that kind of money then their is one rule in life.....Spend it because you can't take it with you. This guy is 65 years old and worth $2.9 billion dollars....He doesn't have a lot of time left to enjoy that wealth. So why not buy a 757 and stuff it full of gold. Cheers

Redicilous? Very. But if you guys bought 350 million copies of FS Kneeboard I sure wouldn't be buying a Winnebago.

I think it represents a lack of ostentatious imagination, if I were DT, I'd have had the outside of the aeroplane gold plated. That way, everyone knows it is flashy, but you wouldn't have to look at the monstrosity when sat inside the thing.Al

Al my friend,The Donald LIVES in his own imaginary universe! You may not get a lot of press on him on your side of the pond, but over here he's, well... a looney. When he jumped into the circus surrounding President Obama's birth certificate, it left me scratching my head and mumbling to myself,"What did he just say?"But, I guess when you have that kind of money... you can act any way you want to. :PAlan p0503.gif

Oh we know Donald over here too, and I can assure you that such levels of megalomaniac lunacy have enough power to make it across the Atlantic without the need for a 757, gold plated or otherwise. Mind you, if I had his money, I would be having my name painted on the moon and stuff like that.Al

I just wish that he hadnt dumped his 727. They are a dying breed of aircraft.

Daniel Miller

He's successful, been nearly down and out more than once, found his way back AND has a HOT daughter. I don't begrudge him anything and I would take his daughter and his plane but if I had to choose one probably just the plane... :LMAO:I call BS to anyone here who says they wouldn't want to hop across the pond on that thing! :(-Paul

I agree. I really like the 727, especially the rear Air Stairs. However he would have had to pay for a Pilot, Co-Pilot and Flight Engineer so the 757 means he doesn't have to employ a Flight Engineer, Also the spare parts for a 727 were probably getting a little pricey. The 757 is probably not as expensive over-all compared to a 727 and it is a larger fuselage. They are both great aircraft but if I had to pick one over the other I would go with a 757 as well.Cheers

True because I have yet to meet any AVSIM member that has owned either a 727 or a 757. I've said it above and I will say it again, If I had the money I would buy either or both...Cheers

I agree -- ironic when you read an article like this: Donald Trump's Companies Filed for Bankruptcy 4 Timeshttp://abcnews.go.co...50#.T2leBNX4Kyw

I hope that girl finds her way back to the car show...Not for me... If I had that kind of money... I think I would go with a Citation X for the flash aspect, if i had clients needing wow'ing. I'd still have my PPL, and a couple hangers for my TBM 850, G58 (for short east cost trips), and the family station wagon... The Avanti P180 II, for trips going out west... like the family trips to Yellowstone and the grand cannon... ski trips to Canada/Alaska, and Colorado. Maybe a King Air just for Air Venture. Maybe some kind of vintage.. Stagger wing, Cessna 195, or a Lockheed Vega. They can keep the gold plating nonsense... I'm more of an exotic wood kind of guy... Yea... well laid out interiors with lush wood grain panels, and brushed stainless steel hardware.
