March 9, 201313 yr OK, here is a really stupid question - I own Active Sky - I read in several posts that this program impacts the weather in your system - if I own Active Sky do I still want this program? Chuck Steinmetz
March 9, 201313 yr Commercial Member Many users that took to IF right from the early days have stuck by AS, and insist it's great. It works fine with IF. You can just uncheck IF weather and build routes at your time of day and use AS real world weather. You only need turn on IF weather if you wanted to run offline or just enjoy IF weather at any location any time, in that case you would not run AS and activate IF weather; IF would use the AS textures you have installed. Couldn't resist, another shot from glider flight that blew my mind. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
March 9, 201313 yr Commercial Member The weather is just getting a big update, the glider shots are from version [sf] being tested as we speak. There is more I can do to the weather and I've already lined up another set of upgrades for the version [sg] to follow soon after. From the cockpit of the glider have a look at the mists between the trees and hills. All default FSX, scenery, clouds, everything. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

March 9, 201313 yr Like Sennett, I have been fortunate to test the sf preview. Holy crap!, the weather engine is outstanding! Had most engaging flight ever just now cause rain storm was rocking my air ship the whole rain stormy way. Pretty too. Few pics.
March 9, 201313 yr Commercial Member Request: Perhaps the manual available in PDF format? THX for a great program You are very welcome. Maybe one day I can get time for a .pdf manual but it's content is changing almost daily. I hope you can print out the html help In the meantime, you will have to choose the setting in the browser to "print background images". The help is updated in the upcoming version [sf]. March 9, 201313 yr Is the Prepar3D version coming out now with sf-version too and are you going to offer it for reasonably priced upgrade for existing FSX version owners? Sadly, IF has been pretty much without use after I changed my platform and I'd really like to get my hands on to proper P3D version. New verison looks terrific!
March 9, 201313 yr I want to use it with my PMDG NGX and 747. At the present time, I end up with different flight plans on the FMC and in the IF kneepad. If the new version allows just setting up IF in the usual way then iporting the flight plan into the FMC by pressing a button, that would be great. Henri Henri Arsenault
March 9, 201313 yr Commercial Member Hi Henri, IF does exactly what you want as Rich described a few posts ago. If you scroll to the top of this page you can see the IF plan being loaded as the co route. When you build each route IF exports the .rte v1/2/3 plan to the NGX co route folder ready for you. The expanded file formats and exporting functions will cover all FMCs but it comes with an upgrade cost to be set by Flight1 shortly. Hey Grunty, I'm totally conscious of the fact that there is absolutely NO P3D VERSION OF IF AVAILABLE YET lol. I did hope to do it earlier but with going to Flight1 the upgrades were needed first. It will come as soon as I can do it, hopefully appearing around version [sg] which will be not long after [sf]. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

March 9, 201313 yr "importing the flight plan into the FMC by pressing a button, that would be great." Yup this is exactly what it does SWEET Rich Sennett
March 9, 201313 yr I had tried just making a flight plan in IF in the normal way using IF, then trying to enter it using the C0-route in the FMC, but I could not find the flight plan I had just made. There are a number of statements in the above instructions that I don't understand. What does "... next I created an "export item" for the LD767" , and "...I also ensured my dll.xml had the correct LD767 entry before running the flight" mean?. In this case I was using the PMDG 747, but it should be the same with the PMDG 737, which I will gocheck out when I finish here. EDIT: OK I just tried it with the PMDG 737 and could not get it to work. The flight I created is not in the co-route list of the FMC, and it is not in the PMDG folder with the other co-route files where it needs to be to be read by the FMC, and not in the FSX files folder in the documents folder where the IF flight plan .PLN files are found including the one I had just created with IF (based on the time stamp). The file type required is .rte, but there is no such file in the documents/FSX folder nor anywhere else that I could find. I suspect that the problem is with the "export item" question I mention above, but still, if IF creates a .rte file what is it called and where is it, and how do I get it into the PMDG folder where it needs to be? Henri Henri Arsenault
March 10, 201313 yr Henri you need the updated version of IF which is not available yet the problem after the pmdg ngx sp1 the co-routes work sometimes and sometimes not but with the new version of IF Steve has fixed that so you may have to wait for the new version to enjoy seeing that co-route showing up in your fmc sorry for the bad news but Steve has stated should not be much longer to wait for it. IF will place the flt plan in your C:\FSX\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS folder again without the new version this does not happen. Rich Sennett
