I read what he wrote and I understand where he's coming from but I don't understand one thing.. JV wants us all to move to P3D... ORBX cooperates with LM on some level (they are pushing P3D for some time now)... do you think LM would tolerate that he's clearly asking people to break their EULA?
Content removed for breaking rules on speculating on Prepar3D EULA.No more.

Gentlemen,Please listen to me.Other than mentioning that a home license can be purchased for $50.00, discussing the legal terms of the Prepar3D EULA in AVSIM is strictly forbidden by Tom Allensworth. All moderators, including myelf are under strict orders to rigidly enforce this ban 100%. Therefore any further discussions along this line of speculative legal meanings will result in serious consequences. Please do not discuss the Prepar3D EULA any further, anywhere in AVSIM.http://forum.avsim.n...ad-eula-notice/From above link by Tom Allensworth:Quote:"Armchair and wannabe lawyers pay attention to what follows...There comes a time when speculation, rumors, innuendo and allegations do harm. Wannabe lawyers who have endlessly dragged the subject of the EULA provided by MS to Lockheed through every perturbation of "expert" opinion, can congratulate themselves. You have succeeded in putting people, careers and products at risk.I have been contacted by sources that do know the facts, and the consequences of the BS occurring in these forums. It is time to cease and desist.I am asking all the MODS here to be alert to any further discussion of the so called EULA and shut down the topic immediately. Continued posting of any aspect or proximity to the subject of the EULA will result in the removal of posting privileges here. So, folks, it is time to bring the damaging speculation to an end." Surely those developers still sitting in the anti "free transition to P3D" camp, as it were, cannot have it both ways? For years, they have been quite happy to sell us FSX add-ons that, until quite recent hardware improvements, were arguably part of an overall package that was, by common consent, unfit for purpose, in terms of poor frame rates at anything approaching full detail, plus all the out of memory errors, and so on and so forth, due to FSX not being fully refined (admittedly not their fault). Now, when their customers finally have a chance of getting some real, extended value out of these, often very expensive, products with LM, they voice objections to providing a "free passage" to what could be the sim nirvana we have all been chasing since 2006. Developers sitting on the other side of the fence wisely recognize that P3D potentially offers longevity to their businesses and, equally as importantly, a chance for customers to get a better return on what, for many of us, has been a pretty big financial investment over a very long time, too much of which has been spent struggling with the recalcitrance and eccentricities of FSX. Surely the sensible approach is to follow the lead of Orbx (who commendably u-turned), FSDT, Aerosoft etc. and give everyone a painless transition into the new software and then reap the future financial benefits of producing even better new/updated add-ons in a constantly developed simulator, as opposed to one that has had its day - if, indeed, it ever had its day - and, actually, was never fully realized, despite everyone, developers and simmers included, putting a lot of time, emotion and financial investment into it.

Don't we all deserve this long awaited opportunity to join together as one and take our wonderful hobby forward?

If PMDG have a change of heart re P3D I would consider the move but as things stand this seems unlikely. But I guess at the end of the day commercial realities will determine where it all ends up.

How do you actually get the Credit if you already purchased the SSBL?

I added something to my cart at the Flightsim Store and there was no credit shown.

Mmmm. All seems a bit pie in the sky at the moment. Put a ticket in to Adrian with the appropriate order numbers; thinking it would make his life a little easier. That was over a week ago. Not heard a thing other than an autoreply to the Ticket placement. Ah well, it's under AU$28, not exactly a life changing sum. And come to think of it I don't even feel surprised.

Arnie....if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

Oh dear..I was just thinking this today, and have just done the same..I hope I don't get banned from the FTX forums for asking for a refund!!

It's May 8th and still no news on the SBSL credits at FSS. Left a post at ORBx for a status update.

Hopefully they will send everyone an email when its ready.

@ Parping Couplet, nice post but there is more going on behind closed door, some peoples don't play well with others...."you catch my drift"

Posted at OrbX asking for a status update on the SBSL credit. So far no reply after 2 days.

Maybe they are just getting tired of people asking about it. But then, they were the ones who announced it.

Or did they....the announcement about it (the one referenced at the beginning of this thread) has disappeared from the OrbX forum.
