April 14, 201214 yr Why wait? The updates are free and you get to enjoy it as is for now. Just my opinion. There are a lot of issues! If they get fixed I will buy...if not....well, I won't. Milviz is doing a 350 and flight 1 are doing a g1000 equipped B200. I will wait and see how those turn out before spending 40 bucks. If it was 25-30 I could live with the Carenado shortcomings. If you are going to charge Premier League money, it better be a quality product. So far I don't think that is the case IMHO Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD

I thought they were sticking with Cessnas. 40 dollars is a little high, but it is a King Air, so fans of King Airs at least have a platform to start working with. Kdub
April 14, 201214 yr Yes, check the Flight 1 forum. It's in the thread regarding theaeroworx king air Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
April 14, 201214 yr Find it on the 'pedestal', or the AP popop window or use the knob in the FO's side. Or get Bert's Heading Adjustment update to the EHSI.. Bert
April 14, 201214 yr Or... I got back to the Malibu today. From my op in many aspects the Malibu is the better thing. So we wait for some patches.
April 15, 201214 yr You're not alone on start. I also ran the checklist religiously, the right gin and starter engage n1 rises to 12%, I advance conditioner to low idle and -----NOTHING! I did notice that there is no fuel flow and I here the ignition recycle but it won't start. I also tried all the fuel system settings and made sure I had gas. I don't hear the booster pumps engage and there is no fuel pressure warning. Any ideas? ok, think i have this thing figured out, has to do with some sort of other fuel valve in addition the the 2- shut off valves on left side cockpit. The way i see it is certain aircraft in FSX have different mechanisims programmed in to control fuel flow, I THINK. For example, look a a default c-172. You push in mixture, and set fuel tank to on, very similar to older cessna, but in the newer generation 172s there is an additional tiny fuel valve shut off control in cockpit, very easy to miss, and by default it is on. Some add-ons mimic this valve in some way, and its easy to access, and some have a fuel on/off valve, but it appears to be related to some other system. so, problem with me is the following. my default start-up flight is based on a 172 cold and dark, most cold and dark set-ups have most items shut down, but this fuel valve appears on, so if you s/w to another aircraft, regardless of fuel mechanisims, this function allows fuel into system. Well, i like a very realistic cold and dark, so in additional to everything being shut down, i also have this valve turned off. so when i load the c90 cold and dark fsx also has this particular fuel related valve turned off, as programmed by default load scenerio. problems appears when there is no equivalent on/off s/w, or valve in the c90, at least i cannot find one w/o a good reference manual, many times simply moving mixture to rich will allow fuel, and if there is a valve, as on a jet aircraft, i.e. 737, below main throttles, which allows fuel in, as well as the c90, but not in the same way, or least i cannot find how. you would think the two shut off valves on left fuel panel will mimic this, but it does not. So, i noticed recently following the saving of this default cold & dark set-up i have a no start problem n a few other complex a/c, with even auto start not working. i had this happen ercently with new CS 737-200/100...could not start no matter what, sometimes, but not always..may have to do with what i was doing prior to s/w to 737. So, i tested this theory and voila..it worked. I.E., went to my start-up aircraft, the c-172, found that fuel shut off valve, turned it on, and s/w to c90..started in 30 secs..no issue at all..and i do like the little experience i have had in this new c90..sure some bugs but so far seems pretty good. so anyhow, now i set up my new default flight in cold and dark, everything off, except that little fuel valve in the c-172, or i guess i could just save a default flight using another default aircraft, but whatever you are basing this new fault flight on, i.e. a 172..need to make sure that before you s/w to naother default start-up bird this valve is left on. so anyhhow just a theory, it works for the c90 and the other start up problems every once in a while, i have with other add-ons. having a similar problem with electronic but with my ariane 737. no matter what i do, power seems on, apus, s/w set for proper power, radios look on, but some sort of circuit, that i cannot locate, so set up using checklist, but cannot use radios until main engine started, and cant start engine, unless auto start, many times...again every power light on, apu, ground, etc..all showing power, but some sort of bus and/or system not powered up enough for radios and main engine start...any suggestions..i think all these issuses are somewhat related to how i program my cold and dark start ups and what aircraft is part of that start up flight. so at least try this and see if your c-90 starts following normal procedures...thanx jjetmec
April 17, 201214 yr So should this be added to the Carenado list of issues to address? i.e. provide a switch? Or perhaps this model could be modified so when it (the C90) loads, that valve, non-existent in the model, could default to "on", thus overriding the issue. Is that possible or is it just inherent in FSX? Is the FSX subject valve's setting assignable to a keystroke? April 17, 201214 yr This is inherent in FSX - and in my experience, vendors who provide custom code to override it, end up screwing up other airplanes that get loaded after, with no obvious way to recover, other than restart FSX with the default C172 etc. Bert
April 17, 201214 yr Fuel shutoff valves should be present in the C90; those are the typical valves that closes in turbine aircraft having a fire control handle: when the handle is turned an extingisher is released and the firewall valve closed. You will find those on many PT6 aircraft, including the C208 Caravan; in most cases (when there is not a fire handle) this is a pull-push knob to use in emergencies only, so it should be left ON at shutdown even on cold & dark configurations. In FSX this is reflected in GENERAL ENG1 FUEL VALVE:n variable and is very simple to control by code in a gauge. Unfortunately systems simulation by gauge development is very basic in Carenado and most of commercial aircraft -with the exception of PMDG. I guess big pool of customers are ok with this approach, as they only want to fire the engines straight out and go flying. For the rest of us who stand more on the simulation side than on the gaming side, there is little choice but to develope what is missing by ourselves.

April 18, 201214 yr I fly vampire hours so if I can get all the guage lights lit and the panel lighting dimmed then I will be content. I also replaced the reverse sound with another. The stock sound imo sounds like gravel is being ingested by the engine. The systems junkies can fight over the other "issues".
April 18, 201214 yr Personally I truly enjoy this plane. I bought it after SP1 and I am happy with my purchase. It flies wonderfully and gets the job done. Yes it does have some quirks but I think that most will be happy with the product for now with SP1. Sam Vaughan
