April 12, 201214 yr Hello there everyone, I was wondering if you would be kind enough to share which tweaks you have done to you FSX.CFG in order to enhance your fsx performance. I know I'm probably going to get a reply saying "this has nothing to do with the ngx" but I thought it's better to ask this question here as to run the ngx you have to have a pretty good system, thus the settings people have applied to their CFG should be applicable to my CFG. I'm just curious as I noticed I have good fps but I have stutters. And I'm not sure what tweaks to apply, whether or not to apply the Bjote tweak (I have my cfg tweaked this way at the minute) I've also heard about bufferpools and highmemfix or something tweaks and I'm not sure if I should apply them. TIA, Danny
April 12, 201214 yr PLEASE do NOT missunderstand me, but..... April 12, 201214 yr Danny - I utilized Bojote's software and noticed an improvement in FSX and the NGX on my system.
April 13, 201214 yr Commercial Member I take a stock FSX.cfg and apply ******* Altuve's tweaks to it - that's basically it. His app puts all the major ones in automatically. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
April 14, 201214 yr Be careful when trying settings from other guy in your *.cfg, probably you don't have the same PC/GPU, so the settings that are good for him, maybe are not good for your, useless or even worse than your original settings. So do like Ben Cap, let Bojote's tweaking web to adjust your *.cfg based on your machine. And I recommend like 777-Pilot to buy FSXTreme PC, for more in deep tweaking. It's almost 11,00 €, veeeery good money for this superb addon. http://secure.simmarket.com/fsps-xtreme-fsx-pc.phtml The big difference of this addon is that it makes changes based on your system specifications, and never go further if your GPU or CPU never will not be able to handle. April 14, 201214 yr Highmemfix and reject threshold for me. Minimum tweaks, maximum stability, maximum fun. It's possible to get too carried away with tweaks and run into trouble. Keep em to the minimum I say. Just the ones that "definitely" work.
April 14, 201214 yr I have found two very good threads on AVSIM. They are worth the read if you want to do more tweaks. 1. http://forum.avsim.n...howtopic=368695 2. http://forum.avsim.n...howtopic=369500 First has some a mathematical approach to tweaking as well as the importance of FFTF. Second has more of the setting that should be used by Inspector for nVidia, but still some good info for all users. In each cases several users have reported a smoother FSX experience and no more stutters. Check it out! "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
April 14, 201214 yr Funny enough seeing this post today …Beware of some of the ‘system wide’ tweaks… I spent till 3am this morning trying to resolve an application constantly crashing (Visual studio express)…turns out it was caused by disabling ‘UIAutomationCore.dll’ tweak mentioned on several FSX forums that’s supposed to reduce FSX from crashing!...was just about to-do a complete OS reinstall till I found after a considerable amount of time searching 100’s of MS support posts where I found ‘just one’ mentioning this file I forgot about…re-enabled it and bingo disabling this was the cause!!!! .........DaveKay. April 15, 201214 yr Whatever raod you will take be prepared to spend few hours on testing. Each system is different from others and each FSX copy has or may have specific addons. It will take time but at the end you will be able to gain FPS. Another suggestion I found very useful is a external FPS limiter properly set, it gave me around 6-8 FPS more, average
