April 30, 201214 yr I run a 920 D0 OC'ed to 4ghz, 6gb and a 560ti and the fps is not stellar but is livable.... It doesnt help that I am running GEX, UTX, REX HD & UT2 As for the bugs..... This add-on has come a long way since its release...... SP1 was much needed and that combined with some mod/fixes found here makes the whole deal very livable..
April 30, 201214 yr Author mm. Im guessing that this is kind of flown like a jet? pretty much take off a/p on then a/p off and land, yes? I might pass.. sounds rather boring.. Ciao!

April 30, 201214 yr Are you looking for someone to talk you into buying this boring airplane.. that you have wanted since announcement? Sorry, but your questions really have me confused.. Bert
April 30, 201214 yr A King Air is one of the most versatile Aircrafts I know, being able to get in and out nearly ANY Airfield in the world ... so you can fly her like a boring "bus" ( ap on on/off on a 737) or take her to the limit on nearly every VFR airfield ... it is anything else but never boring IMO ;-)! Best regards,
April 30, 201214 yr Sorry, but your questions really have me confused.. My thoughts exactly. What does "flown like a jet" mean? What jet? What circumstance? What were your expectations to begin with? Most planes in the sim can be dumbed down to a great extent and made "boring" if you choose. I don't think this one's any more likely a candidate for this treatment than average - probably less so in fact. To answer what I HOPE your question was - yes, the plane has some bugs, but overall I find it well worth both my time and money. If just a few more little glitches can be cleaned up, I"d probably move it from the "very good" to the "excellent" category. Scott
April 30, 201214 yr I've been practicing buzzing around Diamond Point and doing crosswind landings in this thing there. I'm always amazed I'm able to squeeze it on that sidewalk of a runway surrounded by obstacles with relative ease and by no means is the flight model dumbed down. It's beautifully responsive and one of the better planes out there that gets rid of FSX's "riding on rails" feel. A lot of problems (in my humble opinion) were greatly over exaggerated. It had some issues yes, but as mentioned they were squashed with the quickness. A lot of the initial bugs were greatly blown out of proportion by kicking and screaming by a few making a plane with some expected launch bugs sound like Carenado sent out a balsa wood airplane. April 30, 201214 yr I bought this upon its release and initially regreted the purchase...some bugs, some graphical disappointments with the avionics, and a lack of documentation on how to actually operate the aircraft correctly. Since the release of the service pack, Kurt's tutorial (see tutorial post in this forum) and Bert and others' mods, the King Air has become a whole new and enjoyable addition to my hangar. And the degree of automation is optional. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
April 30, 201214 yr Author LOL.. yeah I guess it is a bit confusing.. well, I've love the aerosoft B200 back in the FS9 days and always wanted an airplane to replace that one.. I like to do mostly charter work.. bush work as well in the 185, love the baron and the 337, etc.. I'm looking for something that would haul a fair amount of passengers and at a good speed! so now I'm leaning towards it pretty heavily.. Ciao!
May 1, 201214 yr I dig the plane.. but I was a little miffed that it didn't have King Air 350 speed (315 KIAS)... It's just as slow at the Meridian. BUT... You can't beat that range! Fully loaded, head winds all the way... got to Oshkosh (frm right coast) with just a quarter less then half a tank(s)... 1900 PRM, 950 TRQ the whole way, averaging about 225 KIAS @ 25,000 ft.
May 1, 201214 yr Author that is a bummer.. I have the need for speed these days.. I was hoping for something faster.. Ciao!
May 1, 201214 yr Brian, The piaggio avanti is something for your tastes, I would bet. Friendly for the fuel price spikes these days too. May 1, 201214 yr i bought the Kingair on day one and i like it then and i love it now. There are incredible members of this forum who take time to create and share their mods for carenado products and for me it was worth every dollar. The mods are what really make the difference though and it teaches you about how fsx works. you may learn something, i did. As for the kingair experience, i own almost all ORBX products and it is so much fun flying to all of thier airports. especially orbx australia. I have my jeppesen charts on my ipad and realityxp installed and it is really enjoyable go for it!
