The new "Roberto", the ramp agent to interact with GSX is hilarious!

I know, he's great. received an e-mail from support saying that there are more voices coming for agents, english, eastern European etc. So we will get the correct voice at the correct airport

This has to be the best addon I have purchased for a long time. Having a great time. The wife thinks I'm mad!!

I am about to do a flight in the NGX, i use the MCE script flows to set up cockpit, i truly enjoy how you have control over what happens, i you want to skip a checklist, do it, if you want to repeat it, do it, you are in control.

Oh, so you've met Roberto? Yes, he knows what he's doing. Great detail on the planned variation. Makes sense since Roberto can't be everywhere.

I've been looking at this addon and appreciate the thread. Wish they would come out with an ATC only module at a lower price. This seems great but all the ATC addons are quite expensive. I'll probably get it eventually--I've downloaded the demo but am hesitant to try it as I'll probably want to buy it when i can't justify the purchase right now.

Randall

You mean a standalone voice interface for just the ATC? I think MCE can handle the default FSX one and RC4, but I haven't tried that feature so far.

Right you are, if you want to use it for just the ATC interface, leaving out the rest, the price might be a bit steep.

Randall,

Purchased MCE in November of last year for ATC only and NO COPILOT WANTED!!!!

Only fly singles VFR and bush strips throughout all the FTX/Orbx packages.

Have had MCE since it was version 2.4.4.8.

The latest version now in use is 2.4.8.6.

The FS++ Crew is tops for support and have ALMOST got me 100% satisfied.

Still having problems with position announcement coming into non-towered strips.

Have to resort to voice selection of the correct ATC box number when 3 or 4 normal transmits don't work.

Be prepared for a lot of voice training and studying the phrases needed for MCE to work flawlessly.

Good MCE forum here http://rainbird.heavenforum.org/ Scroll down to get to it.

That's what I was thinking. I'm mainly interested in its use with the default ATC. And like you Ed, I fly mostly GA in Orbx scenaries though I've recently purchased the Justflight DC-6B and the Feelthere ERJs so I'm starting to expand a little how I use FSX. The ERJs come with a co-pilot for checklists, etc. Getting it all to work sounds like work. Wiil have to think about this some more and wait for a sale.

Thanks.

Randall

I wonder if MCE ever had a sale running.

On the ERJs, I'm using them with MCE and the FO from Feelthere doesn't interfere at all. He's just reading his checklist when you click the popup window and then waits for your turn on certain items or checks some others.

Since the Feelthere planes come with a nice setup tool, you can assign many commands to key presses of your choice. That's the way to let MCE access the non FSX default features like working on the AP panel and its modes.

You may need VoxKey for this. This allows for telling MCE what keys to press if you e.g. say 'engage LNAV'. So if the Feelthere setup reads a certain key combo for LNAV and if MCE knows about it through VoxKey, you will call for LNAV and your FO will turn it on. Once you've got a hang of it, it's pretty easy and has to be set up only once.

The VoxKey interface is a bit cryptic at first. But feel free to ask.

Does MCE work only in windowed mode? I cant seem to get the control panel to open in full screen mode?.cheers

I use it in full screen. If you cant see it, try asking for it : "show control panel"

Mce is primarily a voice control interface for fsx which is getting adapted to everything, from aircraft control to ground handling. You can slew the aircraft with voice commands, use the fsx menus with voice commands and even adjust the simulation rate with voice commands.

I'm about ready to purchase this addon myself. The customer support from them is great!. I email them asking if they are working on MCE to work with the ATC addon "Pro Flight Emulator" and they said expect to have it available in late fall Aug/Sept. These guys are for real, always improving their software. I think it is worth the $$$.

Yeah I did all the voice training and still struggles to pick up my commands might have to reinstall and start again

Does anyone have an issue with MCE suppressing the RC4 window, when not commanded to do so?

Matt King

Megs, did you listen to yourself or record your voice just to check if the sound of the mic is ok? The MCE engine uses the Windows speech engine, so you can check and test e.g. dictating some smaller text and see how it does.

In the results, if the windows engine fails to understand your test sentences, the MCE engine will do too. So if you're stuck with some too low volume or noise or just some clipping, the results will always be disencouraging. The MCE reinstall may not change that.

Well, here's some feedback after two days.

Firstly, I would like to state that the support is second to none; fantastic. Even at the weekend.

I did the voice training and had about a 95%hit rate. Works with any aircraft, well nearly, but support sorted it and even sent files.

My only down side, is that my PMDG 737, when used is running out of VAS and FSX closes. Now I'm not sure if it has anything to do with MCE, but all was OK before.

Steep learning, but that is the same any new software. Roberto, is just great! and it works with GSX.

Downside, cannot read the weather from weather programs, so when you ask the FO for weather, it is not complete. They are aware of this.

Just wish I got this earlier.
