Milviz B55 might be available really soon

That's it right there.... I put it on trilinear and pow, my frames drop to 22 or so... (at KLAX with everything to the right... absolutely everything...)

If I go anisotropic, I get 15. So, this is directly related to the texture sizes... With the lower end ones, you will be able to go to anisotropic and fly it with good frames...

My system specs are :

Intel I7 930 2800 (no OC)

16 gigs ram (slow)

2 Nvidia 460's with 1 gig ram per

windows 7 64 bit

FSX is installed and running on the system drive.. (seagate barracuda)

(not the greatest system but a good one for testing)

What are people getting for frames? Im getting 25 fps on the ground in most areas where in the ngx im getting a steady 30. Seems very heavy on frames. Had this same issue with the c310.

I'm averaging 45-55 fps using my very mildly OCd 2600 'puter, with 60% traffic density.

For the C310, for those of you with lower end systems, we released a 1024K texture pack.

Where can I find them? I checked the website and forum, but did not see the replacement textures.

Thanks.

Found it on a forum page:

Runs ok for me but could be because I replaced the GPS with RXP, which I think is processed on another CPU core.

Anisotropic and also overridden to 16x in the ATI panel, antialiasing at 4x.

On that note, I might disable the default 430 from the panel too to get some smoking hot frames.

My computer is only 1 year old and overlooked too so that helps too..

Please keep the low res textures as optional, I like the high res

Hello,

I am very pleased with that bird, especially the attention on detail and documentation (an that fantastic mission pack), but I have found some issues:

- looping sound crackling when engines running.

- unable to switch on Instrument backlight lights (yes I know the knob)

- Power loss then climbing in icing conditions (FSX Carb heat bug?)

- Crosswind landing: braking after touchdown with Rudder left or right lets this bird break in the direction of the Rudder. Is there a chance off disabling differantial breaking?

... And how can I access to www.milviz.com/forum There is no register link ...

I`m really not getting on well with this aircraft.

The rudder completely ruins it for me, I just landed at Edinburgh in a cross wind, can not use rudder at all on approach as it produces roll, not yaw, and it gives more roll (faster roll rate) than a fully deflected aileron!

On touch down, hit the brakes, the aircraft pulls hard to one side, uncontrollable, I don`t have brake message enabled so Im not sure whats going on here.

Unless this is fixed, it will be staying in the hanger .

Has anybody tried to add extra passengers or cargo within the FSX load planner. I did once and the plane basically would flip up 20 to 30 degrees on takeoff and you would stall and crash. I'm no flight dynamics expert but is this plane not meant to be use with extra weight such as a couple passengers?

Maybe its to be flown just as loaded due to lack of a proper CG due to fsx limitations.

I also have the issue of the brakes running the plane off the runway. Maybe its my hardware but good to see I'm not the only one with the issue.

I'll see how the SP does and if I'm still iffy I'll just get a refund I suppose; was really looking forward to this one too.

Sean Green

I had that as well. Flying solo I need a serious amount of trim for level flight. Fully loaded with people in back I start to bank up so violently that trim cannot compensate for it anymore.

I was surprised how significant the trim has to be in solo flight, looks unreal in external view too.

Just to put that in relation, my Katana 4x does level out with a trim of around 1-2 with two people and luggage on board while I need 7-9 in the Baron - solo with nothing in the back.

There seems to be an issue with the CG here.

I have to say (IMO) compared to other sims like DCS, Rise of Flight, etc many planes in FSX are "easy mode" with not enough rudder authority, no roll on yaw, and weak response to differential braking.

This can create bad habits and wrong expectations.

I was glad to find a plane like this that feels great and has at least some challenge to the "flying" as opposed to the systems.

Rudder - it can cause some roll, and you can steer without using aileron at all in most sims. The roll in the B55 I find only very strong at the extremes of rudder deflection. I don't know if it's real or not maybe Geoffa or another B55 pilot can comment what happens during full yaw.

The differential braking does turn the plane, but not off the runway. I used it on my first landing to greater result than expected because I was far too fast. Even then I stayed on the runway.

At lower speeds and with forward trim reduced or using stick aft the braking is manageable.

The trim issue - I experience as well, need lots of forward trim for level flight unloaded, but again I haven't flown a real B55 so I'm not sure what's correct.

But I hope some B55 pilots can comment on flying it so it stays realistic. I think Milviz would adjust for realism not to make it easier
