Milviz B55 might be available really soon

Hi Ken,

For P3d I just pointed the extracted installer already used for FSX (since it would now have the registry and anti-piracy entries) at P3d and the Baron installed just fine. I moved the missions into the mission folder as done in FSX, the flightplans were already in the root folder c:/ and moved the reward file respectively. P3d doesn't seem to recognize with this... possibly the hierarchy is wrong, I did try moving the Baron mission part to other mission folder locations but no joy.

Regarding the 310 comment in the mission, it is in the first mission doing the runup when explaining the magneto bug for FSX. I haven't flown the subsequent missions yet.

I have landed on runway 19, 1, and 26 so far. The instruction to turn to base and final seem to come at a time that makes the most sense if landing runway 1 but upon slowing below blue line I get a verbal warning about my speed and no further comment even after coming to a stop off the runway, cleaning up the aircraft and taxiing back to the hangar.

OK, thanks!

I will fix that immediately and then update the package accordingly!

Ken

I recorded my first proper flight if anyone wants a look around the cockpit, and forgive my dodgy landing :)

This shows the RXP GNS530 integration too. Everything works in 3D except the outer dials, but it does allow you to click the screen for a popup 2D RXP so you don't need to do Shift+3 etc. Works great.

Just bought it and I agree it flies very well. Feels very dynamic.

Does anyone know how I can tone down the wind noise a bit? It is extremely loud in this plane and it gets tedious after a while plus it sort of overpowers the smaller sounds underneath.

The FSX configuration menu sound dropdown allows the adjustments of sound levels for environment, cockpit and engine sounds

I'd be curious to hear any thoughts on this compared to the Real Air B60 Duke?

The B60 is one of my favourites, and while this looks like an excellent product, I'm hesitant to buy something that seems to be a similar type to an aircraft that I already spend a lot of time in (i.e. I'm hesitant to share time between them).

Thoughts?

The Duke is very stable and nice to do IFR and long high flights.

This plane though is more fun to fly by hand I think, although it's not as shiny inside as the Duke but that is intentional attention to detail. It's got more responsive controls and slightly more challenging but not too difficult. It has character ;)

While it has a large endurance for long flights I'd probably take this on short low flights for sight seeing, and the B60 for higher longer flights.

No doubt though the Duke of choice for longer flights would be the Turbine.

For "feeling of flight" this one puts me there. The Duke is beautiful but insulated a bit from the outside world... Hard to explain but it's opinion I guess.

Besides, isn't variety the spice of life?

This B55 is now my favorite piston twin! Superb work Milviz! I still love your C310, but the Baron is a real gem, and now my new loyal squire! To answer the above question...the Duke is great, but I prefer the B55 (and the 310 also), I think they have more character and the flight dynamics feel more "alive".

Thanks to the valuable feedback I got on the first mission, I was able to find that reference to the 310R and remove it. So, I have since uploaded the fixed first mission to my server. It is ready to download again for anyone who wants it. All you need to do is download the first mission package and even then just remove the older mission folder in your FSX and then paste this newest one.

I think if you really need to choose between the 2 stick to what you already have as this one plane is no match.But.You could still buy the baron that way you can find yourself what's best for you.You have 30 days to decide.Free.

Good points.

I think I will see about purchase after first Service Pack.

I don't see anything on the product page regarding the Reality XP integration?

It's a manual panel edit.

Everything works with the Milviz 3d panel except the outer dials. For these I click on the screen to popup the 2D.

Someone else posted their config above, otherwise I can give you mine if you have the 530 only (i left default 430 in the panel)

Taipan,

Outstanding video! Really appreciate the time it took you to make that -- much appreciated.

One thing I noticed. It seemed you delayed your rotation on takeoff until you got to about 135 KIAS. Did you know that the rotate speed is generally your Vmc, which on the Baron 55 is at 80 KIAS -- the red radial line on the airspeed gauge?

Cheers,

Ken

90 for me-ground effect till blue line..

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Flying too many warbird sims where they take off on their own power, flying by the numbers doesn't come natural to me ;)

I think I may have left forward trim on my wheel from the previous flight whoops... Either that or I need to intentionally manually rotate earlier.

Thanks for the tip, wait till you watch my landing... I should have gone round with that speed
