It won't be fully featured. Don't get me wrong, I'm pro-X-plane right now and have vociferously defended it and the relative sanctity of this forum against those whose only aim is to antagonize X-Planers, but we need to be realistic. There may be some new airport scenery from early adopters of the new WED, and we already know about that magnificent oil rig, but I doubt seriously that there will be major sections of the planet chock full of new scenery. I am more than willing to be pleasantly surprised, however. ;) I'm just saying this because I don't want to see expectations run so high that 10.10 appears to fail to deliver and cause people to shrug off X-Plane in the future. So here goes. WED is NOT an LR/X-plane application; it's a side development not on the same level as Planemaker or Worldmaker of old. IT'S A PARIAH Ben application towards which LR/Austin has no obligation whatsoever to continue or maintain, much less maintain compatibility thru various updates or versions! That's indeed a pity because users are EXPECTED to contribute towards converting the lackluster "plausible" to the real world. The topic title includes the word "development" - compared to v9, the word "regression" would perhaps be more appropriate instead.

Certainly not the First Amendment of the U.S. Bill of Rights. And while mentioning the First Amendment and it's guarantee of a free press, nowhere does it guarantee the right to be heard. Especially in this private area of the world. You want to keep pushing your agenda of bashing X-Plane. Your agenda comes before the good of this community. That generally does not mix well. Guess which part generally gets removed from the mixture? That's right, those posters who push their agendas. I always like to ask those who push agendas, "what are you trying to achieve?". That X-Plane has flaws? That there's too much hype? What? If you get some type of acknowledgment, will that cause your agenda to come to an end? Or will there be a new crusade against X-Plane, some other shortfall? My suggestion would be to reflect on your agenda and whether it serves Avsim and the community or does it just serve you?

June 25, 201213 yr Xplane not perfect, no product is and just want to see incremental improvements. Some like me just like the GA planes and fly low and slow. People can bash xplane, but it never pukes on me like FSX does nor did I need to spend as much freetime get things running right. Next update 10.10 comes out all download it. :Chicken: All support the little guys at xplane
June 26, 201213 yr Hi fs_av Overlay Editor is still very much alive ... the author appears to have given up on further development of that wonderful 3rd party freeware tool [Overlay Editor], thanks to Austin, Ben and LR. The more things change the more they stay the same. Marginal is still working on these tools and most of them were recently updated, in-fact you can download the source code from GitHub https://github.com/Marginal WED is NOT an LR/X-plane application; it's a side development not on the same level as Planemaker or Worldmaker of old. IT'S A PARIAH Ben application towards which LR/Austin has no obligation whatsoever to continue or maintain, much less maintain compatibility thru various updates or versions! Hey! WED is not a red-headed step child! It has been in development for around 8 years, and the most recent version (1.2) is very easy to use, and is backwards compatible to X-Plane 8.50. I suggest you give it a try.
