I tried once (back in 2007, when I had my old P4 1.6)... I was told there was nothing to do with the rig I had. But having myself been unsuccessfully fighting with ground blurries / jaggies for more than half a year I immediately tried your method and unfortunately saw no difference. Anyway thanks for posting and I hope it will work for you. I have tried all of your suggestions (one by one) and have seen no difference. Being utterly tired with more than half a year of tweaking, I must take advantage of my holidays now and fly a little. As long as I stay in the cockpit and don't look around too much things are OK, so this is what I will do. The problem must lie deeper, have no idea where. Once I have a good mood I will once again try different video drivers (maybe the latest beta) after a clear install. Cheers and big thanks for your time, mates!

In some other forums I have seen several more folks with very good rigs and hopeless ground. Something tells me, I don't know why, the culprit lies somewhere in the Windows 7 (all the folks I mention have this element in common) system. I do have UAC off and I do install and run everything as Admin. I also do disable my MSE for FS sessions. On my previous, much weaker, PC I had XP 32-bit, and blurries/jaggies were present but on a much smaller scale.
August 7, 201213 yr I've done a lot of fussing with this over the years, and quite frankly it comes down to how well your card does filtering. (bilinear,trilinear,anisotropic) Unfortunately I have an All in One with a crappy Intel card who's drivers won't perform anisotropic in FS9 even when forced through the driver So I have to settle. If I move my MIP quality to 4 with Triliniear set, I get a blurry mess in urban areas. if I move Mip to 5 or 6, the roads and textures have more pop, but I have to deal with shimmering. I use FSUIPC to limit visibility to 40NM, the "haze" seems to cut down on the shimmering. So I set MIP to 5, visibility to 40 miles and deal. I would check your filtering settings and MIP level settings. I think you will find some improvement on the blurries, but you may have to deal with some shimmering.
August 7, 201213 yr Hi Rafal I think your suspicion about it being Windows 7 is probably right. My new PC runs Win7 Professional 64 bit and I am having a number of odd issues with things that worked perfectly on my previous machine. It was also Windows 7 but an earlier version? and is interacting with different hardware. In some ways it's been wonderful, and when it is all working it is everything I hoped for. But in other situations I have found myself wishing I had spent the money as a downpayment on a new car!!! Very frustrating! And just when I think I have a problem solved, it comes back in a different situation or I discover a new issue. I am going to persever, as you have. But maybe the resolution is to install Win XP Professional - which was the OS FS9 was designed to run on???? Ian

I admit I do have it on my list of the suspects (should I?). But I am not able to buy a new disc at the moment. What a day, by the way. I have lost my great PC armchair (just broke!). And then I had to spend some money and five hours to repair my toilet tank. And then for an unknown reason I lost my network connection and have no Internet on my FS PC (any network specialist here? http://forum.avsim.n...rk-on-my-fs-pc/ )! August 8, 201213 yr Commercial Member Not sure I can really offer anything to this thread; I've pretty much learned to deal with some blurries and stutters unfortunately. I mostly do heavy metal flying so, blurries aren't the end of the world for me, but certainly would be a nicety to fix. I wish you the best of luck.
