mcphat is not doing the delta paint for the dc-9 i asked them. Go to http://www.cielosim.com/ and have them make the delta for you when the paint kit comes out that is what i am doing.

I also don't have the ability to receive a few VORs, but the strange thing is that a buddy of mine at the same time flying online with me, with the same plane was able to pick them up.

This is one issue I am trying to figure out now on their support forums, as He picked up LDK out of Memphis fine, and I couldn't at all, even using the click and set option in the Navigation pop-up screen thing....lol

I'm loving this old bird! Finally a proper DC-9 with all the bells and whistles!

The short list of negatives: The performance isn't great, but it's not a slide show either. I am having some occasional CTDs, but I did a lot of task switching to "accomplish" those. The sounds are good, but the exterior engine sound doesn't exactly do the JT8Ds justice (I'm a sort of JT8D fanatic). The exterior model is accurate, but I'm not extremely impressed with it -- I can't put my thumb on what it is about he model.

On the whole, I'm happy with the package. I love the deesee-nine-o-saurus, and I love the neat features that work seamlessly in sim with the aircraft. There's definitely more positives than negatives.

How great?

Ben, you seem really really interested in this product but afraid to try it. Flight 1 has a NO QUESTIONS ASKED 30 day money back policy. There is NO risk for you to try it. What are you waiting for?

Ben...

Just spent three hours turning on and off DX10, tweaking fsx, tweaking nvidia settings, even tweaking my pc itself to get the frames back to normal - this caused a serious 30 to 50% drop on my machine. Sure it's not a slide show, but since fsx updates the flight model based of frame rate I'm fairly certain that flying it would be a heck of a lot more realistic if the DC9 were updating 30 times per second instead of 14 to 19.

Interesting. It'd help a lot if we knew your system specs. There's a profile option to include your PC specs so that when comments like the above are made, others can gauge the statement per their system.

I said "isn't" great. :P Not the best for an old steam gauge a/c. I'd say on par with the NGX. You can handle it! Your rig is faster than mine.

Oh my apologies.

Core i7 920 liquid cooled over clocked to 4.2ghz, Nvidia GTX 680, normally running three screens wide at 5800ish x 1080 but today to get this add on working just the one screen with nvidia surround disabled running at 1920x1080.

Fps in ngx 40s +.

Fps in most aircraft 50 to 60+

Fps in dc9 15 to 20.

Folks rarely mention LeonardoLH MD80, but this is a must have aircraft. It has a ready to fly state for those users who don't want the complexity; it has also the most accurate and detailed systems for those people who want the full monty. The flight model is just as good as the NGX. It's a bit aged, and for some people it does not appear to run well. In my case, it's a beauty to fly. tc

I've looked forward to this airplane for a long time, but I'm sorry to report that I see it as a massive let down in my opinion. It looks like it has a lot of potential someday, but it just has too many issues that I can't believe ever made it to release. If you think this is going to be PMDG, think again. In my view, not even close. I'm not going to return it, but its going to remain dormant for now. I have to say it looks very nice in the VC until the graphics seem to go haywire. Its almost like they just tried to do too much but couldn't pull it off. I hate to be so harsh, especially in what is my first post on Avsim, but I gave it a chance and am now going to go back to flying the NGX

Hi Jesse,

Beautiful shots, but please refer to the screenshot rules found here: http://forum.avsim.n...shot_rules.html

I'm not calling you out. There were just a few other great shots from some members posted in here I deleted.

Thanks guys

Zach,

That's a very polite and classy way of reminding people of the rules. I much prefer seeing this style of moderating than some of the others who seem to enjoy bringing down the hammer. Cheers,

Dave

Zach the release package includes "standard definition" textures, while McPhat Studio's livery packs include UHDT textures, witch u must pay for  . McPath will release some free UHDT liverys, first one is Delta Widget coming very soon  look at their FB page.

Kind regards
R.G

... and it supports a shared cockpit, with each pilot both having independent instrument displays...

" In my case, it's a beauty to fly." - pj, too! Did I also mention that, with FlightsimTools.com's "AddonConverter" it's fully DX10 compatible?

You get 40+ frames in the NGX seriously, as in an average? Or is that at FL350 over default scenery. I am sorry but aside from my GPU my computer on paper at least is more powerful than yours and I see no 40+ frames in the NGX unless sliders are way low or in default land.

Don't know what to tell you William. My average across a flight is 40+ yes. I hold a solid 30 only when recording my youtube vids in Fraps.

My sliders are mostly max, with some turned to medium(effects) or low (water) and traffic off. I also spread affinity of all the add ons used across various physical CPU cores since fsx is CPU bound and my GPU rarely gets above 25 % utilized. Other than that all the tweaks I have in place are the standard ones plus the ones I've written about in the magazine a number of times. Also running off dual SSD in raid 0.
