Thats quite true. Also FS9 didnt like it when you loaded an aircraft in the VC view and MS was strict about not doing it. Half the time it would CTD. I noticed when I still used FS9 with newer hardware, it wasn't as sensitive. Of course FSX has the option to load in VC or 2D.

I am 98% sure I will buy it but I am going to wait a few months and I hope there will be a SP or two to sort some things out

 

I think that's a wise choice. There's a diamond in the rough here and I'm sure after several iterations of patching it will shape up to be a stellar package but for now I can't recommend it in its current state for 50 bucks.

I'm just not sure I want to learn the navigation. I enjoy technology. I figure I'll get my steam guage fix when the QW BAE retro is released. But the more I read about this I might get tempted.

CS767,777,Ifly 737, Flight1 even recommend loading the trike first. They even have a startup tool you can download to make sure that happens.

50.00 is a lot to ask for an addon aircraft that is not creme of the crop graphically, system-wise, and feature-wise. I realize it's a lot of work and talent involved in creating these projects but I hope they follow the example of the recent QualityWings BAE 146...it seems like they really delivered a nice product for a reasonable price.

So u think an "Complexity Simplified" aircraft that can't even hold an ILS straight in a x-wind, has poor L /Vnav, very basic fms, not smooth PFD & ND, 0-failures, no checklist read by FO, no learning center with schematics, IMO mediocre flightdynamics, many buttons in VC unworkable.......is reasonably priced? not creme of the crop graphically, system-wise, and feature-wise....& QW is? Sorry, but Coolsky & QW are not even in the same league if u are in to complex aircrafts IMO.

 

Coolsky VC is the best steam gauge of today, the gauges & the flightdynamics are so smooth & realistic that it feels as if I'm flying the real aircraft. Hand flying this historic icon is a dream :Party:

I get the same FPS as the NGX on my rig. If u like old-school this bird is the best!

Again, with such a polar opposite opinion of the QW bird that I have, I can't help but think the same would hold true for the Coolsky bird. I have none of those complaints personally.

Don't let that stop you. If you can program an FMS, flying VOR/NDB is very simple, especially now that skyvector.com is worldwide. This plane flies like a dream too...I don't even want to use autopilot.

Yep that's why I deleted it for the time being.

Well I love this addon, it's not bug free, even far from it, but still a masterpiece in FS world.

 

- The plane is aerodynamically very stable, but the autopilot is rubbish.

- Takeoff at MTOW take forever

- No Doppler or INS navigation, just VOR, even when they are not working

Wonderful pictures William, but they don't show the plane very much. Wonderful scenery though.

 

I know VOR navigation pretty damned well by now, so that alone won't make me buy this. If I buy it, find out it's not for me and return it, how long will it take or the money to make its way back?

 

BTW has anybody actually returned it yet, and if so, why?

Haven't really noticed any problems with basic functioning of autopilot during two first flights.
