Coolsky DC-9 Released!

Featured Replies

What exactly is wrong with the aircraft graphically? Is it the model accuracy, textures, what?

The screenshots look excellent.

The DC9 has rather a cockpit then the flight deck of a modern airliner like the 737ng. The cockpit is jammed with gauges, you have to navigate on VORs, NDBs, HEADING.

It looks great to me, I don't know what some of these people are talking about. For $50, this thing is awesome.

Oops, send button was pushed too early.

I like that steam cockpit, besides flying my wonderful NGX.

Watching video's of Dc9 crews in the cockpit, I find that the Coolsky DC9 team has done a excellent job. The failure module, the working circuit breakers ... it adds to the immersion of this sim.

This aircraft demands some effort and work if you want to enjoy it. If not, well then there are other great addons for each and everybody's choice.

But in my humble opinion, this is a great addon for my personal hangar, I fully enjoy it.

Oops, pushed the send button too early. Sorry.

I wanted to add that watching video's of the real thing, I think that the Coolsky team did an excellent job.

I you like steam gauges, old school navigation, then this DC9 won't disappoint you. The failures, the working circuit breaker add to the immersion.

You'll have to invest some time and effort to really master the aircraft and his system.

If you prefer the flight deck of modern airliners, well then there are a number of great addons out there.

For me, this DC9 is a great addon for my personal hangar. It is so totally different from my 737ngx.

True, I guess it's just a good thing that those who want to save some money can justify it with one negative comment in middle of loads of positive ones.

I think it is a good thing that we can decide for ouserselves what for us represents value and what does not. This is a good thing.Sometimes the best bet is a no-bet.It is irrelevant if there are many positive comments.

You can say that (for you) this $50 product is a good investment and I can tell you that in my opinion this is a waste.

None of us is wrong.

We would be wrong if we presented our opinion as fact.

I don't think the VC in this looks as good as in the NGX, just based on the company screenshots. It should since it's fairly expensive. It's not as if 50 bucks is cheap.

That said, distributing it through Flight1 does make it a risk-free investment. I might pull the trigger after seeing some more user made pics and reading some more reviews on it.

Yeah VC definitely isn't as good as in NGX but at least to me it's still adequate. After all quality of systems and flight dynamics are what give me the experience, not just fancy graphics.

Ngx was what, around $70?

haven't bought yet but can someone confirm the radio wave nav sim is good?

to me just being able to master and learn that is worth $50 for the bush planes I fly and the DC9 an amazing bonus

How does it land? Their Super 80 had some kind of bug when landing. Seemed to always have a nose downward attitude that I could not correct, no matter what speed I set. Not a good experience

The price that they are asking is more than I want to pay to try another of their products.

I will wait for more reviews.

Same issue with me...

Although, I am getting tempted with the 30day no questions asked refund. I might give it a try and if I am getting the issues that others are reporting, I'll send it back.

Hi there,

I bought it the day it came out and really like the whole package. The FDE is fantastic, flies absolutely beautifully. I also like the visual model and VC. The systems are stunning to say the least and the failure sim is fantastic.

It appears to have a small bug with night lighting but I'm sure Espen will fix it.

Unfortunately I'm having FPS problems with it. I have my system tweaked rock stable, no OOM's, no blurries and get a solid 30 FPS with PMDG's NGX and other add-ons (thanks to Word Not Allowed!). The DC-9 however I get about 17 FPS in add-on scenery, which unfortunately anything under 20 gives me a headache since I'm gettiing old B)

Overall I absolutely love it, but right now the FPS present an issue for me personally.

Cheers,

Pete

This is what is holding me back. You have a very nice system (SB OC) and you are having issues with this aircraft.

I think the price point is more than competitive in the range of airliner addons. 50 bucks and a ton of features like the extra apps, failure sim and (reported) system depth. Looks very good to me. I'd even say it's one of the inexpensive airliners, along with Airbus X, Simcheck A300, CS737, iFly737 and so on.

On the problems with the fps and the need to run TML=4096, please keep on reporting folks. Me is a steam gauge fan and I think that, after SP1, I'm in.

A bunch of vague nonsense from pellebus is convincing to you?

"A bunch of vague nonsense"...

Thank You!!!

And I guess YOU must be the mastermind of all times giving You the right to call what i wrote "A bunch of vague nonsense"

I have the right to give what thoghts I want about the DC-9 WITHOUT have Your "A bunch of vague nonsense" thrown in the face!

Shame!!!

Same issue, its the only aircraft causing a frame drop for me.
