October 1, 201213 yr Just wondering if anyone is using an Ipad while flying for different things, i.e. charts, and what apps are you running? I've seen other threads mention this, but I think it would be great if we could have an fmc on the ipad that feeds information directly into the sim. PMDG? October 1, 201213 yr I use an app called RemoteFlight HD, it's basically just a moving map, and it shows heading, altitude, and speed. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
October 1, 201213 yr I don't use my ipad while flying on FSX, but I run Jeppesen mobile FD and ForeFlight while flight training. It keeps my flight bag light. Tom "I just wanna tell you both: good luck. We're all counting on you."
October 1, 201213 yr I used to use my iPhone as a "EFB" (Really just for approach plates and airport diagrams though) but now I don't mind Alt Tabbing. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
October 1, 201213 yr Take a look at airtrack ==> http://www.ipobjects.com/home Be nice to have that for my MBP... October 1, 201213 yr I bought an iPad 1 when they first came out specifically for FS. I would love to upgrade it as its showing its age now. Apps i use for FS are 1. FS Kneeboard 2 (charts etc) 2. FS Calc (fuel planning) 3. LIDO Route Manual (charts) 4. GoodReader (PDF) 5. Dropbox (PDFs, charts etc) Gavin Price
October 1, 201213 yr I didn't know about Lido manual nice info, I really hope also Jeppesen can create a less expensive solution for Flight simulator enthusiasts. I would certainly paid 8 € for each airport that I use a mostly. I have bought Airtrack month ago that integrate, well with fsx but not for extra add-on, I ask to the developer if he would integrate it with PMDG SDK, which in my opinion would really make a nice tool and improvement with the NGX. We could use as FMC, we could use as instrument setup or for flightplan modification and so on. The developer didn't get much enthusiasm I really hope it would take the chance to integrate with the NGX and future product. To sum I think that tablet are must have and a good help for chart tool and info.
October 1, 201213 yr I use the iPad for enroute and terminal charts (Jepp apps) and METAR/TAFs (AeroWeather HD). My performance and weather based calculations are done on paper physically by me (like the old school ways). Takes up a considerable amount of time for planning but it's fun and you can always use softwares like TOPCAT or your aircraft FMC to confirm the calculations you've made.

An FMC on the ipad is a brilliant idea. I cant wait until we can do that. But I guess it will be bespoke for each aircraft?
October 1, 201213 yr You can get your fmc on the ipad using airdisplay, it is easy to set up and works really well, but it does hit your frame rates a bit. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
October 1, 201213 yr I use SimpleKey Pad on my iPad while flying in FSX. Lets me have easier access to keyboard based functions that I do not have mapped to my flight stick. Really awesome little app. Can quickly flip between that and SkyVector on a browser to look at sectionals.
