Wow I finally get it.

Hi all, we'll after years and years, of flying in FSX, I finally had that WOW moment.

I had installed stalled on my new PC, purpose built to run fsx at 5670 x 1080 at 30fps, which she does nicely, at least in smaller aircraft, I get 15 - 20 with my PMDG 737.

Anyway, I have got all my addon installed and was using a flight from Cosford to Guernsey to try out the Vox ATC demo.

So there i was over Bristol, talking to Wolverhampton Control, I look left with track IR, and there reflecting in a pinkish glow of the sunset was the seven Bridge.

Wow,I know many of you have experienced this time and time again, but for the first time since I started my journey, I felt there, I was really flying.

I have never experienced FSX feeling so real before.

While I know this may bore most of you, I just had to share. :)

Yeah, Its great to have moments like that  Had many of them myself and felt like reallly being there.

And you forgot to take a picture to share?! ;)

Fun when it all clicks together in a flight.

Yes, FSX can very closely replicate the real world. Just don't forget, when you are a 737 captain, there is no pause button when you have to use the restroom or get too busy with the FMS. There is a copliot, but you still have to fly the hundreds of tons of metal hurtling through the air at 500 mph.

ORBX- the way to go

Sincerely, John McGee

Yep...Cowboy10uk, I hear you :Peace:

Mine was two weeks ago when my oldest son finished a build on a PC that he designed for my budget.... When I turned it on it took seconds to load Win7...I loaded FSX and when I brought it up it booted to free flight in maybe 10 seconds...

Now, after a week of loading payware, planes, mesh, scenery and airports I had my moment.. the one you describe... a sunset flight from Whitehorse to Anchorage... 737, landing at Aerosoft Anchorage-X...

It was at touchdown, a second or so after actually, I paused the sim... and then went and got my bride of 27 years....and said, see this honey... this is why!!!! We both viewed the paused screen for a few when I realized I had not loaded FRAPS or Snapper yet!! It was an amazing shot! Not soon repeated I fear.... But I got it and so did she!!! It was amazing!

So the picture goes to memory... But I know what you saw and how it felt... Myself, after 9 years of a sub-standard PC this was truly a MOMENT! Take care!

There is always the V key for those moments :-)

I have a good PC, so my FSX is pretty nimble... but going to DX10... Holy cow... seeing that shadow cross the panel in a turn just like I've seen in RW.. I was like... "Now we're talking!". REXE got me half way there before DX10... now it's just ridiculous.

and there reflecting in a pinkish glow of the sunset was the seven Bridge.

No offence...but don't you mean the Severn Bridge?

Now that really did made me LOL.

In another 1000 years, the "holodeck" will make all this look silly... Although, per Murphy's Law, will not be spared from CTD, OOM, and add on incompatibilities.

And you forgot to take a picture to share?! ;)

When you finally have that moment of really being there... you obviously have forgotten about V-keys and things like that...! ^_^ It's impossible to capture that special moment which btw I think we all had (or should have) at one moment. I sure did, more than once too, lucky me.
