To make it very short, it's good to see some things being fixed.

But personally I'm still waiting for a huge sound pack improvement. It's really weak at the moment for me.

My overhead textures are still blurry and flood lighting still needs to be fixed.

Except from the sound package nothing is really preventing to enjoy this beautiful Ol' Lady.

Best regards, Fritz ESSONO

Sound is a very personal issue. As the engines are at back of the DC-9 the aircraft has a "quiet" cockpit.

Epikk : is that what you mean with "weak" ? I find the sound package ok.

Although there were issues with the aircraft for some users., there are also users ( like myself) that are happily flying around without real issues really enjoying this old lady.

It's not the sound level that bothers me. It's the whole thing.

I don't want to hear the engines I want the hear and feel the Lady.

Almost no ground roll sound. Especially from the nose wheel.

No wind sound hitting the windshield at high speeds. The sound is the same from 0 knots to +290 knots. This is impossible. And a big mistake in my eyes. The only time I hear a little rumble increase is when the gear is selected down.

It's TOO QUIET. This aircraft is a cathedral.

And in spot view the sound of the engines is NOT convincing at all and the level (noise) is very low.

By weak I meant 'not good overall'.

Well.... this is from an former real world DC-9 pilot:

"Funny, cockpit noise/sounds is one of the things that simmer always keep complaining about. However not really many are aware of the kind of noise you REALLY hear in the cockpit. The DC9 - among all - is one of the cleanest cockpits in that respect. You barely hear the engines, even on take-off, you barely hear Air Conditioning sounds and you barely hear an increase of wind noise. But of coure simmers want to hear the engines screech, hear the Air Condition whisthe, hear the flaps motors whine and so on and so on smiley1.gif Some even want to hear fuel pumps and tire screech in a jet!! You simply don't hear it! You want realism? Then shut it down to 10% and forget about fuel pumps, flaps motors etc. After spending almost 10 years of flying in -32, -33, -34 and -51 cockpits I must say that no other cockpit ever matched by far the low noise levels of the DC9 - not even the A330, which has a nicely quiet cockpit too - apart from the engine noise, that you hear from all wing mounted engines."

Kind regards
R.G

Could someone do a screenshot of the overhead (blurries) panel?

I bet we simmers mostly want an enhanced sound perspective as we base our framework of senses due to being seated in the back. I'm sure I have my sound settings way too high but for me that works to get me immersed especially when I take off and my senses need some feeling of movement - some rush - some noise.

Regarding the wheel roll, Fritz have you considered AccuFeel? I get nice rolls and bumps (and squeals) with that little applet.

Then maybe I'm wrong...

But still not convinced.

Even in this video alone the real thing makes more noise than the CoolSky.

This one is DC-9-10 which has much shorter distance between engines and cockpit than DC-9-30 has.

All this talk about cockpit noise is funny.

I just got back from New York and one of the things I we did was a 30 min helicopter tour in a bell 207.

The noise was deafening getting in and sitting in the FO seat. Untill I put my head phones on and then the deafening engine turned into a hum and no flicking of switchers or anything could be heared. The only sound was talk/ATC and lots of TCAS warnings.

So unless your sitting in a cockpit with headphones off there is very little noise and that was why RealAir did not make switch noises in the duke T and now I can see why.

As for you-tube, well that's like head phones off, nothing like with them on.

Download and install "Texture Max Load Editor" and run FSX in 4096 or 2048.

Your blurries have nothing to do with the DC-9 software other than, like REX, they take advantage of higher resolutions in FSX.

My overhead panel is very sharp.

If you want to up your engine sounds get Turbine HD Sound package for the DC-9

Robert,

Did you happen to do a screenshot of your Doolsky DC9 overhead panel?

Edit:

When you mention 4096 .. is this the included with purchase aircraft (paints, interior panels) or the HD liveries and panels available from Mcphat?

Best Regards,

Vaughan Martell  PP-ASEL KDTW

Robert,

Thank you.

I'm already in 4096.

And I'm not trying to up your engine sounds. I know you barely ear them in the RL flightdeck. It's rather the 'ambiance' (roll, avionic, wind) that feels low to me.

Plus having to buy yet another soundpack at 13€ after spending 39.93€ on the DC-9 is NOT something I want to do.

Best regards, Fritz ESSONO
