June 28, 201312 yr I dont know if its just me or your sweetfx setting are so stable that it doesn't cause fsx to vanish when selecting menu option. So earlier today i did 4 hour flight. When it came creating another flight plan i was expecting fsx to crash , just only this time left the effect on when selecting flight plan in the menu option. Strange as it sound fsx did not crash . I am also using shade combine with sweetfx. Also running rivatuner an Precision X in the background while using fsx. Thanks I'm glad you did not crash
June 28, 201312 yr You sure SweetFX is the cause for the blink/flutter? I'm trying the Opus demo and get this blink too when going from VC view to VC view also. Outside view cameras I don't see this happening so I don't think its SweetFX. I did my tests here. You were right, Bumpy, OpusFSX does not like SweetFX to some reason, I hope the developer will investigate at some point. I really like SweetFX, for me it's a game changer, perhaps more than the imminent ORBX world, and amazingly I've had no other problem with it that were reported here. It's beautiful in the day light and makes a night night in FSX. Dirk.
June 28, 201312 yr What software did you use to change views in VC? What did you end up with? Thanks, Dirk. Ezdok, but SweetFX was definitely the culprit. I don't use it anymore due to CTDs and it's stopped happening since.
June 28, 201312 yr Ezdok, but SweetFX was definitely the culprit. I don't use it anymore due to CTDs and it's stopped happening since. Weird, Never had a problem with SweetFX and EZDOK. The first and only problem with SweetFX is OpusFSX. Dirk.
June 28, 201312 yr Just bought EZDOK yesterday and don't have the flash or blink VC changing issues like I saw with Opus, so I'll be keeping EZDOK.

Outside view cameras I don't see this happening so I don't think its SweetFX. Bad news for PMDG737 flyers: SweetFX seems to hate generic FSX camera switching with PMDG737, the display flickers really bad, when changing views (try switching F9, F10, F11). The flickering looks particularly awful at night. The same equally applies of course to using EZDOK or OpusFSX cameras. I think it may be possible to cure this with some tweaks in [Display] section of fsx.cfg or somewhere in cameras.cfg settings. Another possibility it's a gauge in the panel.cfg of pmdg737 that switches views and panels when clicking on the hotspot, somehow it may get in the way and needs to be removed. Thanks, Dirk. PS: Forgot to add all this flickering happens in FSX full window only, no problem in windowed mode.
June 30, 201312 yr Which setting makes the night darker? Want to tweak it a bit. Sent from Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Eric
June 30, 201312 yr Just bought EZDOK yesterday and don't have the flash or blink VC changing issues like I saw with Opus, so I'll be keeping EZDOK. Bumpy, please confirm you have no flashing with SweetFX in PMDG737 in FULL SCREEN mode. Thanks, Dirk. Ezdok, but SweetFX was definitely the culprit. Same here in full screen mode with PMDG737, no matter if Ezdok, OpusFSX or generic FSX camera switching. No problem in other planes though. Dirk.
June 30, 201312 yr Sorry Dirk, I don't own any PMDG product yet. I also 99% of the time use windowed mode.
June 30, 201312 yr Sorry Dirk, I don't own any PMDG product yet. I also 99% of the time use windowed mode. Yes, this explains your experience with SweetFX then. Thanks, Dirk.
June 30, 201312 yr I have the whole screen flashing every second when NGX is initialising after starting FSX. Every time you get a written message in screen it flashes. This is with SweetFX and with the ENB series (i used ENBseries when i was still on DX9). After that i get no flashes, but I don't use EZdok. I do use Opus, but I didn't notice any flashing when going into another camera view. Maybe I have learned to ignore it, would have to check first. I had the flashing in the NGX already before ever using Opus, so for me it's really a injection-side effect and not Opus. After the first 15 seconds there is no problem at all, so I don't really care. Mark
