    My SweetFX settings.   You can preview and download my setting from here.

  • Had a quick look at it and it sure is impressive. Just download SweetFX 1.3.7z, unzip it, move the files and directory inside to your main FSX folder and there you go. The scroll lock key switches it

Dirk try this link might help you    shigt+f12 is key code 123 you can change as seen below the 33 will change to 123 and save the file - good luck

In your main fsx folder is the injector.ini looks like this

[injector]

key_toggle=33

key_screenshot=34

key_reload=19

[smaa]

preset=SMAA_PRESET_CUSTOM

weird_steam_hack=1

Richard, code 123 is for plain (non-shifted) F12. I think there's no code to intercept Shf+F12 combo. Can other shifted keys be used at all? For example what would be Shf+H? Unfortunately all single (non-shifted) keys are already busy in my custom maps (FSX, EZDOK etc.). So I'm trying either to remove all key assignments used by SweetFX, or find a code for shifted state. From the link you gave there are no Shf+ or Ctr+ combinations if I got that right.

Also, what are these 2 entries for:

[smaa]

preset=SMAA_PRESET_CUSTOM

[misc]

weird_steam_hack=1

So far SweetFX is amazing, no CTDs here, and I'm using principal settings by VAE_jonp from this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/page-17#entry2636490

The only problem my key map is already 100% busy.

Much thanks,

Dirk.

Dirk I am new to this also you may want to post in a Sweetfx forum sorry i use numbers on the number keypad on my keyboard, I would search for one keystroke that is not being used has  to be one.

Is this better?

D3D11.dll Crash-to-Desktop:

This one began to occur around the Nvidia 314.XX series, and apparently impacted other games, too. Thanks to some diligent work by Avsim member "lucastng", (Avsim post #437 (here), who found this post, by Steam member "CCentR".  The issue is fixed by un-installing Microsoft Update KB2670838

I would like to know where some of you are applying AA?  I have AA using Nvidia Inspector and I also use it in SweetFX because I like the added sharpness but there is some shimmering on runways, taxiways and some buildings.

Has anyone tried disabling AA in Inspector?

Well, I think I hopefully got rid of the SweetFX CTD's with no error message.  I got rid of the KB, but also I found that when you go into a menu with REX running and come back out it briefly re-loads weather.  Well, I knew it did that, but I found that if you immediately try to go back into a menu item (map, save the flight, load settings, whatever) while it is trying to do that quick re-load it will crash/lock up FSX.

I do know that was not the full cause of me thinking SFX was causing crashes though because when I first put it on my system and was playing with settings it was without REX running.  I'm guessing it was the KB fix being applied, running EVGA's Precision X with the OSD turned on even though it was in "compatibility with 3rd party dll" mode turned on, or a combination of both.  I guess I'll know more as I use the system normally now.  I'm done trying to force it to crash to see if it's fixed (if that makes sense).

Just wanted to add, I've posted a support post over on the REX forums because I believe REX locking up the sim is the cause of my recent issues with SFX.  I'm guessing REX locks up the sim, SFX doesn't know what to do or is trying to do its job, and windows or something flips out and just kills Flightsim.

Sorry, disregard my question, these entries are in injector.ini by default.

Thanks,

Dirk.

That is correct Dirk any setting out of the basic setup will call for custom and Steam for playing games on the steam network.

I deleted my KBxxx update file and may give SweetFX another go.  I stopped using it a few months back due to occasional crashes.  Is SweetFX version 1.4 the most current one as I believe that's the one I have?
