Would love to hear about any possible fixes to this crash. yes, I have tested and confirm Sweetfx is the culprit. So I am looking for solution like you. lol. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_cSQR-scbpxaMauagnsU5A http://www.twitch.tv/fastcheetah702/profile
May 15, 201313 yr Sorry guys I just dont know enough about this yet and have not been using it to long so I have not seen this problem but bet someone will be able to help here hopefully, I'll keep my eyes open also. Rich Sennett
May 15, 201313 yr I've downloaded what I believe to be the correct uiautomationcore.dll from various CTD threads and the problem still persists, but seemingly only when using SweetFX. Since I uninstalled, I can't recreate the problem. It's a shame as I love the effects SweetFX delivers, but when you've been flying for two hours and then get a CTD, the benefit does not outweigh the cost! I love this effect also. So that is why i started from scratch. I reformat a spear rig i have in my house an install fsx on its own drive . An do like Jim told me to test each add on with default setting to actually use fsx with its own setting before applying any tweaks just to make sure it is stable . Then once i can verified that it is stable i then proceed to adding every payware add on , an even make sure that is the latest update for each add on . I then apply the tweaks recommended in fsx guide . I setup my window 7 just like Nick's suggested in his guide also. Even with the new rig fsx would still crash when using sweetfx. My crash is a little wierd i can fly for tones of hours an it won't crash until i went into any menu option . So thankfully i found someone on this thread that share his setup with me an everyone here. I think my problem was the uiautomationcore.dll i had the incorrect one in my fsx guide. Have you try tweaking sweetfx using the sweetfx configurator? I notice a difference when using this tool it creates a back up of your original sweetfx setting an also do some few extra changes. One thing to keep in mind is that when going through any menu option i usually turn off the effect before going through any options. May 15, 201313 yr Nice shots more settings thanks for sharing Thanks. My whole intent with this or something like ENB (which didn't give the effect I wanted without killing the VC) was to clean up the hazy washed out look and give a bit more contrast. I didn't want glow in the dark planes from too much bloom or VC's that I couldn't see during dawn/dusk or in the case of the QW Avro engine gauges, at night too. I've tried the default bloom on SFX and while it's a nice subtle improvement, I didn't feel it was worth the 10% GPU usage hit that I took. Same with HDR. As a matter of fact the Curves settings in my file are actually Adi's settings, and I felt Adi's Curves settings gave a very similar result to the HDR effect, without the GPU usage hit. My config is essentially the one that was in his signature, with different effects turned on, and default vibrance bumped from .15 to .30 because HDR did give a slightly more saturated color than Curves so the vibrance increase helped that. May 16, 201313 yr I began to notice as I flew FS with SFX that my antialiasing wasn't really working as it used to: using a split screen showed me that with no SFX the AA was nigh on perfect. On the right side, showing SFX, not so impressive. I guess many people will have worked out that SFX settings other than the specific AA ones can have quite an effect on how good the antialiasing is in the sim: after a few hours of trial and error, I thought that some people may like to read what I found. I use nVidia Inspector, bear in mind, and have AA set there (not in FS9, where I have unchecked the box)... 1. Firstly, I have AA in SFX off: #define USE_SMAA_ANTIALIASING 0 //[0 or 1] Activating it makes edges much less smooth. 2. Also, having Bloom activated quite dramatically increases the jagged effect on slanted edges, particularly as you pan in spot view, so I have: #define USE_BLOOM 0 //[0 or 1] 3. LumaSharpen settings are also crucial. Much higher than the values below, and again I get ripples and some visible jagged edges along wings and so on as I pan. In the advanced section, I found that 'fast' gave a slightly better result than 'normal': // -- Sharpening -- #define sharp_strength 0.200 //[0.10 to 3.00] #define sharp_clamp 0.035 //[0.000 to 1.000] // -- Advanced sharpening settings -- #define pattern 1 //[1|2|3|4] Choose a sample pattern. 1 = Fast, 2 = Normal, 3 = Wider, 4 = Pyramid shaped. #define offset_bias 1.0 //[0.0 to 6.0] Offset bias adjusts the radius of the sampling pattern. //I designed the pattern for offset_bias 1.0, but feel free to experiment. Hope this is of some use to a some people... Different PCs will probably react differently, but with those settings adjusted the difference in the effectiveness of AA with and without SweetFX enabled is virtually nil. If anyone has managed to get excellent AA with higher LumaSharpen settings ( #define offset_bias seems to have no effect, whatever value I use?), or in other ways, I'd be very interested to hear and see what settings you have, Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
May 16, 201313 yr I got it to work, but it disabled FPS_Limiter, which in turn resulted in crappy FPS and/or stuttering. I actually found I can get pretty good visuals just by creating a preset in my Intel Graphics Options with slightly higher saturation and contrast. I have to remember to turn it on and it doesn't show up in screen shots, but when I'm flying with it it looks pretty good.

It clearly state out directx11 but not directx9 like mines did a few days back . May 16, 201313 yr Okay something is strange in your error log . It clearly state out directx11 but not directx9 like mines did a few days back . Indeed, the D3d11.dll is directx11. I have used Sweetfx in my old pc with dxt11 and it was all ok. I have reinstall fsx in my current new pc and the sweetfx giving problem. I suspect win7 updates could be the culprit. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_cSQR-scbpxaMauagnsU5A http://www.twitch.tv/fastcheetah702/profile

Do you get the crashes right when it is enable like totally crash right away or does it crash maybe 1 or 2 hours in flight or when going on menu options ?
