Airbus X Extended Released

I agree. It's irrelevant.

When I tune in any ILS when flying an "Airbus A320" I expect it to work without doing the merry-go-round on me. Because this is a problem within the AXE. I can do the same approaches a million times in the other add-on (you know which one) without any issues. However, don't ask me why some people flying the AXE get problems with the localizer and others don't.

Just glad the developers are on top of things now.

Rule #1: Learn how to correctly fly this animal; this is not your typical Boeing! Study and learn the tutorials. (Do not expect to intercept the Localizer from just any location or altitude.)

Rule #2: If you have a question or need support, the best place to go is the Developers support forum.

Rule#3: If only a couple of you are having this problem, and especially with a specific airport, then something is very wrong with that airport's approach signals.

-- I have not had one (not even one) issue with intercepting the "LOC." Why? Well, primarily due to Rule #1

Oh, please. You can stuff the patronizing tone. The developer has said it himself that there is a bug with the localizer.

Besides, just because you don't have a problem, doesn't mean that you can conclude that everybody else are idiots.

I know why you never had a single issue intercepting the LOC. Because you haven't flown it enough. A few posts back i stated that in some airports i even forced it to a 90º angle to intercept the LOC, and it did even with some reserves. In some others it doesn't even in STRAIGHT LINE with it. Perhaps now you understand.

As for being an Airbus, thanks but i have many more hours on those than with Boeings.

Sometimes i ask myself: Was this even betatested, or were the betatesters ignored? On my first flight i noticed problems right away...

An extremely patronising and uncalled for post.

I too have had seen the issues with the LOC intercept. It isn't related to particular airports. I tried to intercept the LOC at EGPH from an angle of less than 10 degrees. The plane immediately tried to shove me round the other way, but I took manual control. I tried the same flight again, but had no issues at all on exactly the same flight plan and track (both flights flown with no wind).

These bugs happen when a project gets rushed to market. Maybe they could issue a service pack that brings this VC up to 2013 standards! Sorry but this Airbus dissapointed me in its graphical quality compared to some other recent high- end addons.

These kinds of issues happen on all new projects, from basically every developer I've ever bought something from. Although no doubt that diminishes some of the dramatics of your post. I have no doubt that service packs will be issued to fix functional problems, but I wouldn't wait around for a SP to change the interior aesthetics. If those are as disappointing to you as you say, you'll likely have to look elsewhere for your Airbus.

Looking at some flight deck shots at airliners.net I think, that they actually did a pretty good job on that flight deck. Even though it might look to you like if it's not up to 2013 standards, that's not Aerosoft's fault, but Airbus's (if anyone's).

I see. Can you post a video of when this happens; beginning just before you intercept the LOC ? I would like to know the exact airports of which this is happening and fly it myself and see what happens.

Phillip, I am not patronizing the Airbus Extended (as I have been accused by a couple of pilots), nor do I have anything to do with Aerosoft...In fact, when they failed to release the product within an entire year of saying it, I was one of the hashest critics on it. However (here comes the however), However, you are the only one I have read this from (on your multiple posts on different locations). So, I think it is save to say: "I don't believe you." This baby has one of the very best (if not-- the best) textures out there, in FSX.

Actually it is one of the sharpest and best looking VCs out there. Why your post has been voted up three times on this occasion is beyond me.

I don't believe ANYONE 'accused' you of patronizing the product, Rather the posters, and I agree. Your posts are both patronizing and belittling.

Good job the issue of textures is so subjective, because as far as I'm concerned, to suggest these are among the best is more than a little bizarre.

No, that's not what I said. Rather you took the stage here in a condescendingly and aggravating way making assumptions about how we - the "morons" who fly the Airbus like it's a Boeing - should read the manual. Have you seen me fly it? Didn't think so.

Well, I have the audacity to say that I have a pretty good idea about what I am doing when it comes to flying. Also, I don't try to make others look like the laughingstock of Avsim when they are having problems. Especially when I don't have a clue about what's going on.

Ok...Fine...Let's not start a "fight." Let me just agree with you, then. What? No way! The Airbus Extended is one of the best a/c FSX has ever seen. (or which one do you think is the best? Let me guess....hehehe...I know, I know). But seriously, Aerosoft did a great job so come on..don't dislike it for no reason.

Well I've given up on this plane until Aerosoft gets it fixed. Just too many things in there that aren't working as they should - results seem to vary on an airport by airport basis, which is even more peculiar. I'm not buying this argument about it being a poor man's PMDG either. If I choose to buy a Mini rather than a Rolls Royce it still should reach the same destination in a seamless, albeit less comfortable way, shouldn't it!

The cynic in me suggests that the release had more to do with catching the lucrative pre-Christmas market than being absolutely fit for purpose. Surely they must have known about the localizer issues!

That said, when everything has been completely ironed out, it should be excellent.

Meantime, it's back to the ever reliable NGX, which actually makes me wonder why I bothered with the Airbus in the first place, other than it being a great option for a quick flight when time is limited, when it behaves itself.
