December 28, 201213 yr It's not PMDG but then it also doesn't have the PMDG attitude I don't see what this attitude is that they have, they interact pretty well with their customers and the tech support has been top notch the few times I needed it. ( BTW.. both times it was my fault, and they still were helpful) Sure they don't update people everyday and they don't give release dates but who does? I notice you have the IFLY in your signature), I own it too so I have access to the forum and the offical stance on the feature pack was it will be ready when it's ready.. How is that any different then PMDG? Mike Avallone [email protected],Corsair H115i cooler,ASUS 2080TI,GSkill 32GB pc3600 ram, 2 WD black NVME ssd drives, ASUS maximus hero MB
December 28, 201213 yr Sorry for the double post, I think avsim is playing up, or it's my iPad You don't have to take my word for it, I actively encourage fellow simmers to seek out correct info for themselves. I work on LVL-D simulators. If you find any A3xx captains out to there that recommend large sidestick inputs on the bus then let me know would be interested to know what outfit they flew with and who's writing there sops The side stick commands a roll rate on the bus, you add small inputs and then centre the stick. As mentioned, in heavy crosswinds or gusts then you do what is necessary. Regards Ah I see thanks for the info - if I can find the video I mentioned I'll post it here. I remember watching it and being surprised at how much the stick was being moved on the final approach.

I wish Ronan OCadhain , could comment on this, since it's more a generic question of Airbus behavior, of which he is well experienced. vs an comment on the Aerosoft model. December 28, 201213 yr A very thoughtful, well written review. I do not have the familiarity with Airbus as the author of this thread does, but I've flown it in the real sim and have flown the PSS/Wilco varieties of AB and I agree with his assessment of the airplane. Of course, I too, am a hard core, systems nerd (I'm a dispatcher, so I am a systems nerd by default), so for me, the more complex the simulation the better. I also like flying the Airbus on FSX and the lack of one that close to the PMDG level of simulation is a BIG void in the sim market. However, Aerosoft has created a pretty solid bird. Does it do everything that it is suppose to? No. Will most of us really notice? If you drive an Airbus for real: YES. Otherwise, probably not. It's a lot more stable to fly than some of the other buses on the market and until FSLABS comes out with their version, I'll be content driving the Aerosoft aircraft. Aerosoft was very honest about the product they were creating and they've pretty well hit the mark. It will get the job done for most of us and unless you are prepared to wait for FSLABS, the spend for this aircraft is pretty reasonable considering what you get. December 28, 201213 yr Soooo.... They just released version 1.02 and just after release, a hotfix 1.02b. I cannot test it right now since i'm at work, but the fix list is quite big, i hope it's much better now. December 28, 201213 yr Don't install hotfix 1.02b at the moment, because ailerons don't work with 1.02b and the ac is unflyable. Edit: Just a new file for fixing released http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/61759-unable-to-turn/ Regards, Mats Weinberger
December 29, 201213 yr All in one switch for night lighting is a killer for me since I fly mostly at night and I find it annoying having either every single light in the plane on or none at all. Now v1.02c solves it. Joshua C. WSSS
December 29, 201213 yr (...) i hope it's much better now. One can only hope. Many important issues still remain... - Aircraft still climbs like nuts if you set FLAPS just near the maximum speed for speed protection. This often causes embarassment online as a controller will ask you "what are you doing?". - It fails on many ILS captures, performing a full 360 turn prior to capturing. - The TOD is still badly calculated. Either too close or too far away from the actual descent point. This isn't easy i know, but very important. - Most STARs have problems. Yesterday flying to GMMN i had a left turn inbound the FAF for ILS35L and the aircraft decided to go right instead. The line was badly drawn on ND as it had an inverted semi-circle. - Today while arriving to LPPT i had to change my arrival from RWY03 to RWY21. There were a few points remaining that i had to delete from the MCDU for the new approach. Once i deleted them, i got a flickering line on ND between the old unexisting waypoints and the new ones. - When flying to coordinates (for ex 3820N or 3920N) the aircraft will usually ignore them and fly somewhere else. As an example, a widely used route from LPPT (Lisboa) to LPPD (Ponta Delgada, azores) by TAP Air Portugal which is BUSEN DCT KOMUT DCT 3820N DCT BEKUN will cause problems. Just after passing KOMUT and while flying to 3820N, the Airbus will go straight north instead of continuing west to 3820N. The same will happen once it finally reaches 3820N. No issues with the other waypoints. Until these are addressed (and some more), i can't trust it online because it will run away from what a controller expects a pilot to do. I can only hope SP1 isn't far away and these are a thing of the past. This issues are still being sorted. It has been identified as the MCDU have problem reading the navdata correctly causing massive load of issues. The developer (Who has worked on the project for two years non stop) is working on it as hard as possible. We will issue a hotfix for this immediately once its fixed. Joshua C. WSSS
December 29, 201213 yr Thank you. Please understand i'm not complaining, just stating what's happening and how important this is. I trust you to fix these issues and bring true joy to flying this Airbus. Having the problem identified is important, and i'm glad you know what's happening. December 29, 201213 yr - It fails on many ILS captures, performing a full 360 turn prior to capturing. That is mentioned in the step by step guide, i.e. do not engage LOC with more that 90 degrees difference to the ILS otherwise you may capture the opposite ILS beam and turn away from the airfield, I use around 70 degrees to be safe with enough time to comfortably capture the LOC. It's a bug in the default FSX auto pilot systems by the way. Cheers, Andy.

That's a little presumptuous; I was coming into EGPF at less than 20º difference to the runway heading and LOC turned me away from the airfield. Yes, I had the correct runway set up through the MCDU.
