December 23, 201213 yr Commercial Member Well I don't think broken throttle has anything to do with that addon, unless you somehow managed to mess up some settings in FSX which causes it not to work properly even though the throttle itself is fine.
December 23, 201213 yr I dont know if by "alot of bitter people" you were referring to me among others? I hope you dont think I'm bitter. I'm just an unsatisfied customer in regards to the airbus x. I wouldnt have posted at all unless I ended up with a broken throttle. That will cost me some real money. Other than that: If it works for you, then I'm happy for you! Merry Christmas! No I wasn't referring to you. There is obviously something in your setup that has caused your problems and I understand your frustration after many hours of trying to troubleshoot. What helps me to troubleshoot is to walk away from the computer and maybe a day later, just think about the problem and its amazing what solutions or probable causes come to mind. Works for me Merry Christmas
December 23, 201213 yr Im afraid this addon got uninstalled the same day I installed it. During the process my throttle quadrant seems to have broken. It worked perfectly up untill I had to perform the "fixes" to get this addon working alongside other premium addons and FSUIPC. Now the mid-lever of my proflight throttle quad isnt working any more. Might be coincidental, but after 10 hours of trying to get this addon to work and fixing my throttle I decided it wasnt worth it. I filed for a refund. Hello, There is nothing in the Airbus X Extended addon that can 'break' your hardware throttle, but as Craig suggested perhaps your efforts have resulted in the axis settings being erased or changed for it, in FSX. If you look a few pages back I posted some advice about throttle set up for this aircraft; following the 3 easy rules prevents 99% of throttle issues with this add-on :- Ensure your hardware throttle axis is assigned to "Throttle" in FSX assignments (not "Throttle 1" or similar"). For this aircraft, assign the above in FSX Assignments, not FSUIPC. (Avoid assigning in both!). If you have more than 1 piece of hardware axis (as you have as you mentioned multiple throttle lever axes), ensure that only one axis is assigned to "throttle" in FSX assignment. Having two devices or two axes on hte same hardware unit assigned to "Throttle" will prevent the throttle working. When hardware is plugged in to your PC, it is assigned to axis automatically is FSX, so most people with the issues have "rogue" hardware assignments to "throttle" that they may not even be aware of. So check all assignments in FSX and ensure the above is met, and you're throttle should work flawlessly. HTH. PS... the last time I posted such advice, I was mistaken as a member of the development team of this addon. But as the dev team know, I'm nothing more than an enthusiastic user, passing on my experience.
December 23, 201213 yr Bob Church, the joystick guru of Stickworks, pointed to me a little utility that will erase in the Windows registry joystick calibration entries that can sometimes cause problems. Once used, you'll have to recalibrate all of your joysticks, but it has helped me with my CH gear. It's called ClrCalib and is available here: http://www.wingmante...are/gadgets.htm And it works in Windows7 64-bit. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual

Although you don't need it in Win7...there's already an option to restore defaults and clear the calibration table in Windows' own calibration routine. I'm pretty frustrated with the Airbus X Extended right now...I am in the bowels of CTD Hell with this one, especially after installing the hotfix. This is something I have not seen in a very long time, and don't see with any of my other complex add-ons. Sadly, I don't think this one was ready for prime time when released. It does have potential, though. December 23, 201213 yr The Airbus is made for you, perfect, enjoy. See.. I had issues (More about my lack of knowledge/undertanding). So instead of throwing tantrums, I come here and post my predicament and the fine folks here who are willing to help post their suggestions. And guess what... My issues were fixed. I was told that I need to Align the IR using MCDU as well.. which I didn't think I needed to do. Cause I was too lazy to do the Step by step tutorial. So Although I wouldn't call the Airbux Extended perfect.... I am ok with it. Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

December 23, 201213 yr If that's not the case I'd still advise against sharing the connection information on an open forum. I have to apologize. Should have marked my statement as a joke. I think the biggest danger on sharing the MCDU with me would be the actual setup though. I usually aim for landings like this. It's a better one.
December 23, 201213 yr I have to apologize. Should have marked my statement as a joke. Kinda thought you were joking, but I thought it couldn't do any harm to point out that sharing that information would be a bad idea. Just in case there were any less computer savy people reading this . John-Alan Pascoe
December 23, 201213 yr . . . I'm pretty frustrated with the Airbus X Extended right now...I am in the bowels of CTD Hell with this one, especially after installing the hotfix. It does have potential, though. . . . You are not alone in your experience or your feelings. I can get around some of the CTDs by manually entering waypoints in the flight plan, rather as a SID or STAR. Even then I my last "almost complete" flight I was afraid to try and change arrival RWY in the MCDU, lest I crash, which happened anyways once I got abeam the airfield in manual flight. Joe Lorenc
December 23, 201213 yr Mmm, I can understand anyone's frustrations in getting CTDs; they are the bane of this hobby! ...... I have not seen 1 CTD in this add-on. (from around 15 hours use - about 4 hours post-hotfix) so I wonder what is causing the CTDs for some of you..... In my experience it often seems to be a conflict with another product/addon. I really hope you can get it sorted and enjoy this cracking airplane!
December 23, 201213 yr Well I have completed 3 flights so far (in between NGX flights) and 2 times trying to land the aircraft has gone into a climb mode even with the throttles shut. It's alomost impossible to land it nicely. Anyone else? George T
December 23, 201213 yr No not seen that one. Do you mean that when you try to retard the throttles, the A/T system is gonig into "CLB" thrust mode? That sounds like a joytick throttle axis issue. To test it, maybe try pulling back your throttle when landing, but also hitting F1, to ensure you get idle thrust.
December 23, 201213 yr The reason why so many compare to the NGX is because thats the benchmark of simulation they expect from any addon, irrespective of price. The other issue is, some seem to think that all aircraft are flown like the Boeing 737 and get annoyed when they can't fly the Airbus like the Boeing. So instead of taking the time to learn the aircraft, they throw their toys out of the pram and say it is rubbish and say 'I will delete it' and wait for the FSL version. Surely, if you can't fly the AS Airbus because you don't understand the systems then you are hardly going to be able to fly the FSL version. What a strange world we live in!!! lol Craig +1
