Accufeel2 Release Date?

Featured Replies

I asked this in the other thread which was closed but didn't get an answer, also do not see this info on A2A's site. We know how much and we know what it does but we don't know when!

Good question! I double it if I may. You were one of the few being on topic in the other thread. ^_^ Outnumbered!

I happen to have shared Milviz's concerns about interoperability with some addons in the other thread, and probably wound up unintentionally on the wrong side of the discussion, but the fact is, is that I can't wait for accufeel2, especially the turbulence part. Right now, I have Turbulence enabled in FSX, but disabled in FSUIPC, which strangely actually appears to still allow for a bit of bumpiness, but keeps the PMDG planes from doing those uncommanded sidewinder turns. So it will be interesting to see what we will be able to accomplish with the new Turbulence feature in V2. I always liked how some of those accusimm planes bounced around in the weather, so if this can be extended to other airplanes, and doesn't entail doing a bunch of Ninja workaround stuff inside the config files with Active Sky + FSUIPC, it will be a real plus. It sounds like the release might be very very close, maybe even before the end of the year--I hope so.

AccuFeel v.2 AL&S has been in testing for about a month. It's hard to say exactly when it will be out, but we would like at least a full week more to test. Like any product, it could be a bit longer. For those who may have missed it, the video here is all from its current state, and walks through the interface:

BTW, on the other post, some saw our trying best to deal with an unfortunate situation as not being responsive. All A2A customers know we're available 24/7. All support areas are also open for all to see, and don't require registration to browse. Now Lewis heads our support network, and as someone who has been in direct customer support for well over two decades, I can say Lewis is simply the best. If any customer is unhappy, Lew won't hesitate to crack a whip that makes our entire team jump. We're very lucky to have Lew.

Oh btw, CoolP, thank you for your informative posts here at AVSim when it comes to our products. We prefer to let the customers speak freely here, without us weighing in all the time.

Also King, thank you for your post. I speak for our entire team when I say it is appreciated.

Scott.

The week between Christmas and New Years is probably not the best time to test. :) If it's available by January 15, I think people will be happy. Those who haven't experienced AccuFeel before can always buy version 1 for the interim and apply the full purchase price to the upgrade... gotta love that deal, btw.

If you're taking requests, I'd really like a rotary engine twin from the 30's, something reasonably complex but can be flown by a single pilot and with the full Accusim treatment. I understand you don't want to do the DC-3, but the Grumman Goose is also one of my favorites. Last I looked Pacific Coastal had one for sale. :) There are probably a lot of aircraft with a similar charm that would be great.

I'm loving the A2A Cub. It would be nice if the fuel and oil levels carried over between flights, and have some winter weight oil available for those flights in Alaska winter. When I saw the interface, I was wondering if the color of the oil indicator changed to reflect the state of the oil.

Waiting patiently for AccuFeel 2.0, and thanks for the update.

I wonder how it will work with programs like EZDOK and Opus HeadCam.

i guess we will see. A2A - as someone else said - is a class act.

As for interaction with Opus camera effects or EZDOK, it looks to me, from the video, that these should place nice together. Both of those are camera effects, in that the player's head is made to move as it would (and does) in the less than stable cockpit. From the video, it looks like Accu-feel enhances the actual aircraft movement in the air during turbulence, requiring actual corrections on the controls, and not simply modeling camera/head movements. So, you get both with Accufeel2 and one of the camera effects. I'm planning on using both, as in my RL flying, both the airplane and my head do a lot of moving.

I'm SOOO pleased to see the water physics in this update. I recall asking about this at one of the DTP sessions with Scott and am pleasantly surprised to see so much done on this front in such a short time. What a wonderful addon this is turning out to be. I suspect we aren't seeing the last of what will come with it.

Really looking forward to this for my non A2A/Milviz/RA planes... Ready to fork over my money as soon as it is available.

This will bring those excellent accusim water physics to my seaplanes that are faster than the A2A Cub.

Great, apparently Accufeel V2 might then be ready when I come back from Thailand, that would be great.

What a fantastic looking upgrade. And all for $5 for those of us with V1!

Can't wait to try out the new turbulence settings. Still looking for the ultimate realism with regards to this. OpusFSX is close but this upgrade could well surpass it from watching the video above.

So how will it deal with external weather generating programs? Does it take the METAR info to generate the turbulence? Would we have to turn any other turbulence generating programs OFF to get the full effect of Accusim (ie DHM in OpusFSX?). And what about FSUIPC wind smoothing? Should this be ON or OFF?

Looking forward to the release!

Adam

It does look like an excellent upgrade. I'm looking forward to it too.

Its a good point. I've been wondering myself.

I'm starting to get confused with what add-ons should have what settings enabled with all these effects overlapping with other effects. Accu-feel, Rex, EZCA, Opus, FSUIPC etc.

But looking forward to Accu-Feel V2 though.

Kind Regards

Simon.
