November 13, 201312 yr Commercial Member Will those exceptional Winter textures show up in S America in January? Have a great day, Jim! :good:
November 13, 201312 yr Commercial Member Silence is golden. No. Not necessarily. It's just that having any kind of discussion with you is at about number 245, 496 on my list of things to do in this lifetime. Nothing personal. Please, feel free to let me know when FSX has gone 64 bit and has a working weather radar. Then I'll bump you up to 245, 495. Have a good one!
November 13, 201312 yr No need for your snide comments Jim. I found the posts about X Plane interesting and informative. Thank you for wrecking it. Seems you can troll with impunity, and one day the mods may zap you when your not looking. November 13, 201312 yr I also found the discussion interesting about x plane. I guess for me if X plane starts doing what FSX already does as far as scenery like real world big cities and surround areas, planes and add ons go and improves on them it would seem silly not to give that program a try.

In this thread I have not bashed product, launched any personal attacks (unlike some others) or done anything to get "zaped". You have no obligation to read my posts, as you are free to use the Ignore feature of this forum. Please let me know if you need to know how to set this up. November 13, 201312 yr There is another thread running on this site right now you may wish to read Jim. Why are flight simmers so rude to each other.

I feel honored to have been party to that. However, please don't turn this around and make me look as if I am provoking an argument. I have as much right to be here as you. All I see is people stating facts...without beating around the bush. You, personally, may want to blur the line between facts and personal attacks, but that's your decision. Perhaps you should have a look at this thread. Call it a thread of "enlightenment". Instead of calling you stubborn (no, I'm not making a personal attack), I'll just suggest that you read that thread with an open mind. Have a fantastic day, Jim!
November 13, 201312 yr For me the most important fact is that, from day to day ( almost, during the last weeks ), we who use and like X-Plane 10, o have even adopted it as our only flight simulation platform ( for many reasons ), are being given good reasons to feel that our choice was a good one. At the same time, the conditions are being created for users of other flight simulation platforms, including soaring, and even military-oriented, to start looking at X-Plane 10 to become their major simulation platform. This is good because I believe all will agree that, no matter how wide the coverage of FSX or even P3D are, the fact is they're still based on premises of 2006 and before. Nothing new is happening to the core of their simulation, and that means no advances in flight or weather modelling, for instance. If you want, of course you can add the 64 bit stuff, because it does indeed create yet another base for development of more complex add-ons and built-in features of X-Plane. With time, the 3pds are / will start looking seriously at X-Plane 10 as a worth investment. I believe Jim himself is a dev for FSX ( commercial member ?, I may be wrong of course...) so, who knows that, created the necessary hooks we can see him contributing with his own creations to turn X-Plane into an even richer platform? We - simmrers - we human beings as a matter of fact, tend to be this like - we desperately want others to like what we like... It somehow strenghtens our own beliefs in that we have made a good option, and that feel feeds our pride, our satisfaction with the choices we've made, and, sometimes, makes us a bit blind ( sometimes completely blind...) - I speak for myself!!!! With all this said, I once wrote, and repeat, that I do think, that FSX is the best wide coverage flight simulation platform ever available for us simmers. There simply isn't yet another simulator with such a wide, and in many times very satisfactory coverage, of the full spectrum of features we simmers dream to have in a civil flight sim, either built in or available through add-ons. I no longer use it, for strict time / money managing reasons, but this is indeed what I still think, and look forward for one day be able to feel about my adopted full time simming occupation - X-Plane 10 ! November 13, 201312 yr The thing thats stopping me is the worry about hardware? Do Saitek panels, go Flight and open cockpits hardware work with Xplane?
