Cross-Country Flight GA Payware Reccomendation

Too bad no one has done an EXTRA 500 (AFAIK). Top wing turbo single. Not to fast, not too slow. Enough room for your junk and souvenirs you picked up along the way.

Like FF737 said, F1 182T sounds like what your looking for.

I've always thought the C185 was one of Carenado's nicer models. It's about 140 kts cruise. Nice booney basher as well.

SibWings Birddog is another to look at....

I would suggest either the Flight1 T182T, or the Bonanza F33A, which I use a lot for my VFR flights on IVAO. Either one, and you can't go wrong...

just finished a gns530 world tour with the realair legacy and both dukes and a vor south american tour with the same..felt so at home exploring in all 3 i swear you can smell my sweat crom some hairy rex induced tragic weather approaches..and my point here before the obvious is stated about wing placement..choose the lancair legacy its just unbeatable for everyrhing except mountains..high ones that is..if yiu want the wings above you just fly it inverted..it does that so very easily.makes ils approaches double the fun too!

Thanks guys, I have come down to a decision

Either the Carenado ct182t Skylane OR the Carenado C337

I know the c337 is better, but do any of you like or have the ct182t?

If the ct182t is not very good, going with c337 skymaster

I'm a big fan of the Skymaster, too. It's just funkier than the 182T, IMO.

C337 with RXP will give you fairly recent navdata or C182T with navigraph for updated navdata. 337 is a little faster.

Depends what you like, the C337 is a mulit, albeit a single-line thrust multi. It's bigger, feels bigger, etc, and is mostly steam gauges, with the obligatory GPS stack. The T182T is a G1000 version, and a bit slower. If your pressed for time a bit for your crosscountry, I'd get the 337, but if you have time to soak up the scenery, I'd get the 182T

Great choice! It is a phenomenal aircraft. The only better "GA" plane IMO is the A2A P-51 Civilian Mustang.

I am really looking forward to the A2A Cherokee and 172.

Glad you like it still makes me smile a big grin everytime I fire it up even after a long pmdg session. Have you got the reality xp gns 530 yet? Integrates with the legacy so well once you install it life will never very the same... And of course even if you prefer vor to vor you either turn it off or just leave the fantastic terrain view open... Incredibly exciting flying around mountains in the dark and fog and landing safely..

Wings on top of the aircraft(excuse my nonpilot terminology) like on the c172, so sightseeing is good.

It's funny. In the days when I mainly flew around for sightseeing I also always wanted planes with high wings. But flying with planes like the Katana, Bay Tower's plane (it's on the tip of my tongue) and finally the RealAir Legacy I discoverd that I like those planes with low but small wings a LOT more for sightseeing! Yes, they do block the view when looking straight left or right but the open and wide view they give you is unequaled...! Whenever I now fly in a plane with high wings I feel TRAPPED! I get claustrophobic! Really! I often have to duck (using TrackIR) to actually see the mountaintops which are often blocked by the high wings! And you hardly see the sky with those high wings and believe it or not, the sky is a MAJOR part of the scenery...!

So now when I want to go sightseeing, I fly with the Legacy which gives me a complete feeling of freedom of view which NO plane with high wings will ever give me. You should try one of those planes. Really! Sooooooooo much better and so much more to SEE!!!

EDIT

LOL I posted what I did after only reading the first page of posts. It wasn't until I posted my post that I read you bought the Legacy in the meantime. LOL Yes, it's awesome, isn't it? (Also didn't notice the original posts are quite old already.... ;) )
