its not that interesting. He felt teased and responded the same way others did. I like how you think he's just going to let it go. Give me a break. I'm sure you won't be turning another cheek if you were in his shoes.

You didnt see the other post he made before it was deleted where he was very disrespectful to Stephen.

Personally, I dont think anyone teased him all that much. Had it been me I would have been able to take it, I mean I would have thought it was funny that I was going ga ga over something that wasnt even showing on my screen. I'm a grown man and can take a little ribbing now and then when I do something, thought he would be able to as well. Guess not.

Funny how peoples emotions seem to overshoot to either very sensitive or undersensitive on internet forums. Like Jim Skorna said, he didnt lose his job, lose his house or develope a health issue over it. He was probably just having a bad day and the other incident he had earlier in another topic just blee his lid.

He'll probably be back under a new user name once he cools off.

.... Well at the end of the day, the only guys to be blamed are the one from MegaScenery Earth..... As Raul posted, their Delaware photoreal scenery looks exactly like the default FSX/GEX textures... Shame on them.

too much, too soon....

Well, yesterday I purchased MSE Georgia. It is my first photreal scenery. I flew around it a while and was amazed. Now I'm not really sure what I was amazed at. I'm going to have to fly it again .... and I ain't posting no pictures.

To me the actual photoreal scenery looks just fine, something that I would expect to see.

That was a joke of course...;-)

Those do look great my friend! I am actually downloading my my state Georgia that they jus released now and can't wait to fly over where I love on Saint Simons Island

would you mind posting any screenshots of that when you get it running?

i'm also in south georgia and i'm tempted, but not sure how much i'll like not having autogen as i'm always low and slow in FSX.

my other hesitation is that most of my sim flying is done around south georgia/north florida, and i'm curious how well it blends into GEX at the florida border. SSI is one of my frequent stops, as well as FHB (55J) right down the coast.

thanks

No, looking at it from the right side is the key to get the scenery looking really good.

There are some awesome pictures in your zip, love them, but they are all taken from the right angle. Look at NH2.jpg for exampe: that shot is (delibarately, no doubt) taken from the exact same angle as the picture that was used for that texture. Approach that spot from the other side and it will look extremely awful.

Everyone is free to like some kind of scenery of course, but I don't like how photoreal users/developers/sellers usually only post screenshots taken from the right angle... and nothing else.

Hi J Van E....

I am afraid this is not correct. In fact, it never entered my head once whioch angle I was taking any screenshot from that set. They are all completely random. The only angle I took into consideration was to show particular areas of scenery or particular features... The scenery looks equally good from any angle in my opinion. Not sure what you are implying here exactly, but just for the record, I wasnt taking any particular angle... These are all taken from actual flights enroute... Not slewed to any particular point or any particular angle.

Ok, you didn't think about the angle you were taking the shots from, but I do believe you did so subconsciously. ^_^ When I take screenshots I obviously wait until I see something beatiful. So does everyone and so did you and so you did not take screenshots from the wrong angle. ^_^ Photoreal simply does NOT look good from any angle and that's a known fact. Fly to the position of the shot I mentioned and then take a screenshot from the other side: you will see that house that looks 3D now will look odd, flat and with strange shadows. That's just how photoreal scenery works: it only looks good from one angle.

Wrong, photo scenery looks real good above 1500 agl, but no point swaying the unswayed to convince them it looks real good like there loss. Autogen is waste of fps anyways. But placed real buildings and larkmarks with photoscenery looks good.

Sorry all!

Let's agree to disagree. In the end it's a matter of personal preference, of course.

Exactly, I won't convince you or convince me. Like music everybody has different tastes

For what it's worth, I could see straight away that the original screenpics were not from MegaScenery, as that is all I fly over, in practice for my PPL and real life cross country flights. Delaware was the first package I bought to try it out and it's awesome; I now own 6 states.

It must have been so embarrassing for the guy who started that thread, and although there is a funny element, I do think a lot of people were pretty mean and very fast to ridicule. It's not the 'having a joke' that's wrong, it's how some guys do it..... if you're going to have some fun, you could at least talk directly to the guy .......... people saying "ha ha, he... this, and he that....." that's the cold, mean stuff in my humble opinion. I mean, it was a mistake, and he had not previously seen MegaScenery, so how would he know whether he was looking at it or not? ......... and now someone has left the community (which does seem drastic to me).... seems no-one wins there to me.

Anyhow, for me using a flight sim consists solely of flying GA aircraft that I fly in real life, over a representation of the ground that I'd see in real life, so it's MegaScenery all the way for me. :)

ROFL, now I'm always going to wonder too!!!

Edit: and +1 to what Helen said

Now, who actually went out and bought Delaware when they saw the 1st set of images that were posted. C'mon now, be honest
