Wow! .... blown away by MSE Delaware!

Featured Replies

Here are some screenies I took from MSE 2.0 New Hampshire, Vermont and Maryland. These are using the recommended graphics settings and tweaking guide. All are straight from the sim with no post-editing, apart to add the titles and MSE logo etc... The lowest shot in the set (the one highlighting the 3D effect) was shot at around 1150 ft AGL off memory... Tweaking your graphics settings is the key to get the scenery looking really good.

The shots can be downloaded here: http://www.pcaviator...MSE2Screens.zip

OK thank you, this is helpful.

Funny indead... You made my day :-)

too much, too soon....

Now it would be funny if he actually meant it as a joke...however, I believe it was by accident. So he had a bad hair day...I would cut him some slack.

I thought those textures looked familiar, lol - but still, where is the autogen?

ROTF!!!

This is taking placebo effect to a whole new level! :LMAO:

LOOL +1

This topic made my day.

Now I got the message of the banner.

I thought those textures looked familiar, lol - but still, where is the autogen?

He was probably flying mostly in rural areas and using pretty low autogen, as he said. That means few autogen buildings which may not be easily seen from the height.

Placebo indeed... Although even default scenery looks hugely better just applying some quality landclass and mesh on it. Textures are still a bit dull, but world looks a lot more realistic even without any improved textures.

Ha ha ha ..ok, I have to admit that IS funny ....... yes, no doubt about it, all down to the placebo affect and the LOD change.

However, you're not all as clever you think you are  , as those textures are 100% GEX, not default.

So..... now to see how the actual MegaScenery Earth looks.

Here we go ........

YEP...... the WOW still applies...

One thing that is less funny though, is just how many people here are ready to get so much satisfaction out of someone's simple mistake..... so much condescending and ridiculing attitude........ it's sad to be honest.

It was an epic fail - no doubt - but the whole ill-intended spirit of people like J SKORNA, is what is wrong about this community; people just ready to slap fellow hobbyists. Must be pretty insecure.

I'll give it a miss now I think - SpiritFlyer; Could you please close my account here, permanently. Thanks.

I can not understand why such a small community like simulator environment is basically going to have to ###### (s'h'i't) out a simmer who have made a small mistake, it's way over my better judgment.

It's not the first time I've seen it here on Avsim, and certainly not the last, but sticking you out here or making an mistake, you are knocked to the ground immediately.

Shame on you folks.

Those do look great my friend! I am actually downloading my my state Georgia that they jus released now and can't wait to fly over where I love on Saint Simons Island

Thanks for your support Bakern - I really appreciate it - you are 100% right, this goes on all the time.....

A moderator yesterday PM'd me to say that a comment I'd made giving feedback about another moderator, was shameful .... well let me tell you Stephen, this type of thing is what is shameful.

As I said, hands up to an EPIC FAIL! on my part - but I am not an overly sensitive person, and could take some good-spirited jibing, but some of the comments here are plain mean ............ and from commercial members like Jim Skorna, that should be setting a good example here.

It's a real disappointment that AVSIM and it's culture let's these bully boys wave their egos around, spoiling the fun for mature users, who want to have fun without making other people feel bad.

No, looking at it from the right side is the key to get the scenery looking really good.

There are some awesome pictures in your zip, love them, but they are all taken from the right angle. Look at NH2.jpg for exampe: that shot is (delibarately, no doubt) taken from the exact same angle as the picture that was used for that texture. Approach that spot from the other side and it will look extremely awful.

Everyone is free to like some kind of scenery of course, but I don't like how photoreal users/developers/sellers usually only post screenshots taken from the right angle... and nothing else.

+1 Just ignore them. Hopefully Steve can PM these insensitive trolls. This is the reason I dont post much here. Josh
