Wow! .... blown away by MSE Delaware!

I don't see where all this hate is? I read through every post and the only thing I noticed was light hearted joking that the poster had no idea his raving about the scenery was actually default. If this gets you upset then you probably should step away from the internet and computer. Now the OP has deleted his account?? Strange.

And of course you are going to see better framerates, it removes all the buildings!! Looks good from cruising altitude and that's it. No sense of depth. In this day and age, photoreal with no autogen is unacceptable.

Nah, autogen eats up fps, and requires overclocking your CPU to get acceptable fps. MSE v 2 is good product. Autogen looks terrible anyways.

I agree, we teased a little, but I dont think anyone went overboard or called the poster an idiot for not telling the difference. Just a fact of life when you make a mistake in public and people tease a little. I've tripped over cracks in the side walks and seen people laugh at or point. Yeah, it was embarressing but I got over it 5 minutes later.

Interesting how the OP rags us for teasing him a little, then turns around and totally dogs Stephen. Sounds like he's no better than the rest of us.

Autogen looks great with Ultimate Terrain or Orbx scenery. I set mine to normal or dense and don't have much framerate hit.

never realized how nice default textures looked when setup right, I just bought GEX + UTX right off the bat and tweaked FSX. The MSE textures don't seem to look too bad, however like many other simmers I prefer the 3D autogen which is why I love GEX and ORBX. Whats going to be real interesting is the comparison of FTX Global vs GEX Global

Don't worry about it. I have what is called CRS disease. It is fairly common amongst the elders in the tribe. It means "Can't Remember Sh##". I cannot begin to tell you some of the things I have or thought I had done when installing scenery and loads of other stuff.

its not that interesting. He felt teased and responded the same way others did. I like how you think he's just going to let it go. Give me a break. I'm sure you won't be turning another cheek if you were in his shoes.

His car didn't blow up, he didn't lose his job, he still has a roof over his head, he didn't have a health issue. Maybe a little bit of laughter would help. Some of you are taking this WAAAAYYY too serious.

Yep a little teasing is OK. Kid's can't play dodge ball anymore and everyone gets a trophy.

To be honest Avsim forum is by far the friendliest and most appropriate forum that I've ever used, compared to this place big majority of forums dedicated for aviation hobby and gaming are full of rude people and trolls.

I see nothing particularly rude or disrespectful in all these humorous answers, thread starter just took his little mistake too seriously.

Way too serious. From what I gathered, seems like there was some bad blood (behind scenes perhaps) between OP and AVSIM Staff and he took this thread as an excuse to lash out, which was evident. Regardless, it was taken WAAAAAAAY out of proportion like so many things do around here lately. People are just so sensitive nowadays, it's incredible.

A moderator yesterday PM'd me to say that a comment I'd made giving feedback about another moderator, was shameful .... well let me tell you Stephen, this type of thing is what is shameful.

As I said, hands up to an EPIC FAIL! on my part - but I am not an overly sensitive person, and could take some good-spirited jibing, but some of the comments here are plain mean ............ and from commercial members like Jim Skorna, that should be setting a good example here.

It's a real disappointment that AVSIM and it's culture let's these bully boys wave their egos around, spoiling the fun for mature users, who want to have fun without making other people feel bad.

If Jim is asked about that, he might complain in the opposite direction. If not, use the search box.

I'll give it a miss now I think - SpiritFlyer; Could you please close my account here, permanently. Thanks.

Raul had a really bad day yesterday with this and other multiple head-on personality collisions. Near the end of the day he PMed me to ban him, which I refused and tried to defuse him with this answer (which was certainly well intended):

Quote: "Nope, I think you are a good guy caught out on a bad day by other good guys reacting to bad calls on a good guy that was having a bad day himself. I see no point in sustaining an sustainable disagreement that can only be sustained by using unsustainable levels of angst with unsustainable ill will that can be sustained only by further sustained angst that should not be sustained any further because of ill will, which is unsustained, especially on my part. That is my last word on it, I promise. Grabbed shovel, dug hole, dropped hatchet into it, filled in with dirt, walking away. Have a good one Raul!" Unquote

I guess he didn't like my sense of humour! This morning he PMed me again demanding to be deleted. I reluctantly agreed, sending a message that I was sorry to see him go.

If we take things too seriously even a downhill slide can seem to be a lot of hard work.

Kind regards,

I am trying to think...are there any other more important things going on in the world, life. Humm, let me see. Yup.

Well, if the guy can't handle a little egg on his face without having a meltdown and insulting his fellow simmers, the moderators, and the community as a whole, I daresay good riddance.

I miss the good old days when people could actually laugh at themselves.
