Is there any good ATC addons?

No. There's a lot of videos and tutorials though!

Will ProATC allow you to file and IFR plan when enroute? i.e. GA flying in say a Beech Bonanza. You left your home airport under VFR conditions but as you near your destination, conditions unexpectedly turn to IFR.

In the native FSX ATC world if you contact your destination airport's ATC through the Nearest Airports option, and request landing, you are refused clearance because of the IFR conditions and the fact that you did not file an IFR plan.

Reality Is For People Who Can't Handle Simulation!

Looking through ATC software, i can't find one that doesn't sound robotic.
Still thinks FSX default has the best sound.

yes you are right, I hope with P3D 2.0 someone could code a new generation ATC using "Microsoft FSX" voices of default ATC, imho the best ones.

Can some one tell me how Vox handle traffic? I am a bir confused. Is it possible to use it with 3rd party traffic addon like UT2 WoAI and so on?

From what I know Vox generates its own traffic using aircrafts model of UT2 or WoAI etc etc, correct?

RC4, PFE, ProATC-X all use recorded voices, while VOXATC, uses speech synthesis. Out of these, RC4 has limited voices, and when I was using it, it didn't sound good. I've watched a few videos others have made, and they do sound better. Also there is a freeware voice package for it, I believe it's in the library. Search "Meatwater" in FS2004 Misc secection. I've only heard it in one video, but it didn't sound too bad. ProATC-X comes with a few voices, but adds user created voices as well, and there goes the problem. Since users are creating voices for it, there is lack of quality control. Especially in the area of Callsigns. You may have one voice read the whole callsign, and others just use phonetics. PFE which is my choice, when used with the expansion pack, which includes a se3cond pack you can download from their forum has a potential of 99 voices broken down by region. You actually will probably only use the expansion pack voices though giving you about 66 voices. This is because the default voices have limited call signs, so if you also used them you would have the same issue as PROATC-X. The expansion packs handle 1000 callsigns. There is also an option to make the voices sound like they are heard over a radio. This sounds good mostly, for most of the world, but not the US voices. Some of them this option does make them sound robotic and fake. With it off though, they sound more natural. I think my latest video demonstrates this well.

Vox injects its own traffic but will use models from programs like UT2 if you install the bridge program. I have noticed that vox seems to inject a lot more Cessna aircraft than larger jets.

That may be determined by what AI traffic program you're using. I use My Traffic X and the AI are exactly as it should be. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the way VOX handles enroute traffic. You rarely see any contrails from other traffic and not a lot of traffic when on approach to major airports. It's still the ATC program I use the most. I own RC4, PFE, and VOX.

I have been using Pro Flight Emulator (PFE) together with FDC Live Cockpit (FDC) for a number of years now and I can highly recommend them. PFE replaces the default ATC and includes many voice sets with different English accents, taxi guidance system both verbal and visual and many other improvements. FDC acts as a copilot, performing checklists ext. also has cabin crew announcements, again with different accents. You can buy them individualy or together. They have been tweaked to work together.

One question about Radar Contact, does it allow you to request an emergency landing?

Yes. You can specify the type of emergency and such and they respond pretty realisitically.

Thanks guys and what about callsign in VoxATC? Does it call them in phonetic or you can specify for exmplae "Speedbird 1164"? In the example find in manual I only seen G-LIMA as golf lima india mike alpha.

Is there a chance to introduce callsign like in Radar Contact?

Vox will say Speedbird or Air Canada. Sometimes the pronunciations of SIDS and STARS can get a little funky but all in all it does a very good job.

Radar Contact callsigns (pretty much all RC audio) are prerecorded. Nothing synthetic.

Yes, once they are all recorded in all the voices. At present I think the emphasis for Pro-ATC X is to get it working fully with all the bells and whistles working. Then it will be a HUGE job to get all the recordings done. The Radar Contact ones were done over a long period with lots of volunteers. How the Pro-ATC X guys will manage this has yet to be seen. But there's no point in doing more recordings until the program is more complete as it is likely that many would need re-recording.

That's the problem with real voicing as opposed to computer synthesised stuff like in VoxATC. Voice synthesis makes it much easier for the ATC program author, but is also much more limiting in terms of variety of voices unless the user purchases many -- and decent ones are not cheap. The cheap ones sound awful like robots, and even the expensive ones can sound very weird unless great care in the spelling to get proper pronunciation -- many words are just not pronounced the way they look.
