May 27, 201313 yr Finally: The first post in this thread that does make some sense! What happened to AVSIM
May 28, 201313 yr Finally: The first post in this thread that does make some sense! Tardar says: poor avsimmers  Steve
May 28, 201313 yr Lil' ol' Tardar has such a sad look cuz he's not seeing any new screenshots on PMDG's Facebook page. I guarantee if Vin or Ryan posted another 777 shot or two his frown would turn to a smile. Chris Sunseri
May 28, 201313 yr Back to non tardar mode: Patience is skill, every body must have it and/or improve it. This thread is a good exercise. good things come to those who wait, but great things come to those who wait patiently... Steve
May 28, 201313 yr Tardar really shows some cool looks on his(?) face. Certainly contributes to a great screenshot photo gallery. Back to topic: Poor avsimmers are hardly ever patient. But skilled PMDG will show more patience than we do - just to come up with a great 777 when time is right. What happened to AVSIM
June 3, 201313 yr I work at Boeing on the 787. We all know how it's been plagued with delays. Can you imagine if Boeing told ANA, Air India, JAL, or the other airlines lining up to place orders for new 787-8's, "we can't project a delivery date. You'll get your planes when they're ready". No airline would sign up. Instead, businesses set targets and work feverishly to meet that goal. Yes in business, release or delivery dates are often missed, but this doesn't mean you shouldn't work toward a goal. Also, setting a goal does note mean compromising the quality of your product. It's the same as any other endeavor you undertake in life. You set a goal and work to meet it. PMDG makes great products. That's not in question. But what I'm saying is the truth, and the fact that PMDG makes great sims doesn't change that. What happens when Boeing don't meet their delivery dates? I think it might be a bit more involved (costly!) than "meh oh well, now we have to put up with some whiney kids on the forum". June 3, 201313 yr Can't imagine the nightmare ANA had to go through when their fleet got grounded. Alex Jevdic KORD/KHOT/KPWKA<380 love at first flight
June 3, 201313 yr its very obvious the down ramping of release info means its going to be 12-16 months away. Seriously they would be pumping the 777 round the clock if it were even remotely close. I dont have a problem with it , just a stretched 737 with a drab brown VC. Bring on 747v2! which will be released before the 777 ZORAN
June 3, 201313 yr What happens when Boeing don't meet their delivery dates? I think it might be a bit more involved (costly!) than "meh oh well, now we have to put up with some whiney kids on the forum". I think that's exactly the difference between an on-demand product (Boeing pre-order) and a "shelved" product (PMDG T7): - producing on-demand, your contract includes delivery dates (also think of big companies' inhouse developments!) - producing for some shelves in shops ... well, it's ready, when it's ready (think I've heard that line before ...) June 3, 201313 yr Wow. 12-16 months? Source? Didn't think so... Knowing my luck, it will be late July, just after the new house settlement when I'll no longer have a FSX slush fund to dip in to. Saturday the 13th would work nicely. Mike Dryden
June 3, 201313 yr Well I think PmdG is not Boeing, the Boeing customers could call for a price cut due to the delay, we don't . And I think in our simmer business it's not a question of money we loose an on delay of the T7, so no need to blame PmdG for their way to develop that plane or? We can wait and we do not die because of that, there might be some people fading away, yeah but we get it some day that's for sure! Cheers Sven Sven Wendel
