April 23, 201313 yr I'm lovin' the love my fellow FS9 simmers are showing for my home airport (Zvartnots) and airline (Armavia) and...I'm itching to make a flight sim vid with the Superjet 100 in Armavia colors at UGEE (now UDYZ). To contribute something to the topic - I believe there are two different Superjets being modelled. One by "Rulexy" (the author of the Superjet 100 in the Avsim.su forums) and the newly released one by Venesim, whose author goes by "bozman-80" on Avsim.su. I got to fly the unfinished one by "Rulexy" a few months ago, which I still have installed my system - in comparison, the model by Venesim is more accurate. Using Google translate, I understand that "Rulexy" has completely remodelled the aircraft, and from the screenshot he provided, it looks like quite an improvement.
April 23, 201313 yr Actually, speaking of new airliners....kinda wonder what new stuff will be done for anything- FSX etc - with windows 8 coming along. Every new PC will have Win8 and with fs9/fsx along with many add-ons not supporting it, I wonder what that'll do for any future development anyway. Perhaps developers still see enough FSX users to warrant new stuff. But for how long? As well as the PC dropping in sales with mac/apple/tablets etc etc, maybe the whole flight sim hobby is a dying thing. Maybe buy some more fs9/fsx copies along with an extra win7 copy to carry you into the next decade or two. Then again, maybe the next big thing in flight sim on a stable platform taking full advantage of the new technology is just around the corner. Jon. First off the PC market isn't dying. The problem is software isn't being developed that makes people want to buy PC's at the rate they did before. Entertainment titles used to included Flight Simulator in which this community upgraded hardware with every new release. The same thing happened with other entertainment titles. The dumbing down of entertainment software has stagnated the market as business software never pushed the envelope like entertainment titles (music/architecture/media software of any major relevance always gravitated to the Apple platform for the most part). XBox in many ways 'cut Microsoft's nose off to spite it's face' (for those of you familiar with the term). Quick thrill titles like Ace Combat is built on the detail Falcon 4.0 brought to the table years ago but missing the guts of the simulation. Much like Flight is nothing but FS11 minus all the features Flight Simulator incorporated. What's insidious is Flight actually had the features of FSX/FS9. All those things were purposely gutted from the sim to work around the new Windows 8 model that's totally failing around the world. Speaking of Windows 8 to further prove my point 'Blue' is coming out with a feature to shut off 'Metro'. The reason for this is more people than the media will tell you are actually using PC's. 'Metro' does not work on 'PC's' in a work environment. Windows 8 is being flat out rejected for not only the OS but rather the very reason's Flight failed in this community... Everyone from the FBI, Air Traffic Control, Local/State Government, and Hospitals are not going to Cell phones and IPad's. PC's are very relevant and that will be plainly obvious in the next two years when masses will make the switch from 32bit to 64bit. This whole 'PC is dead' scenario reminds me of Y2K, it's a false prediction. It reminds me of when after the advent of missiles the military thought dog fighting was dead and refused to put guns on the F4 Phantoms. We all know how that turned out. Today jets like the F22 and EF2000 come equipped with guns. Some practical things don't die like that just like the tube liner discussion in this forum where a guy posted there were no new airliner designs and the 707 tube hasn't changed since the 60's. Some things just work because their practical for everyday use. That's why we don't have flying cars yet (many thought by the year 2000 we'd be there the way things were advancing)... April 23, 201313 yr Actually I don't think big companies will invest in another simulator, this market is very limited and if you count the piracy then it will become even more limited!!! Although we are dreaming for this guru of all sims, it won't happen'!!! The next simulator could have been Microsoft Flight but for no reason they failed, BIG failed and it turn to be an ARCADE game which I will never install on my PC ever, it's like playing HAWX with civilian planes! If you guys look around you will see that every simulator that was develop after FSX was made by fellow simmers and with all my respect, without the money to invest, it turn to be another fail because nobody will play something that looks uglier than FSX or FS2004 and no developer will ever invest money in something that is not played!!! I see here on AVSIM people complaining that XP10 it's not supported by the big developers and that's why nobody will move to it, it has no planes or airports like FSX. We all sit here and pray that someday those big developers will make an announcement that they change their mind and they will start supporting XP10, well is not going to happen'. WE are the one that NEED TO MOVE to another sim before developers will. They will not make any plane until there is a market for it, so if 50% of peoples that play now FSX will move to XP you will be amazed to see that even ALL MIGHTY PMDG will join the line. My humble opinion!!!! My humble opinion!!!! Flight actually is quite good in terms of the area covered the the flight modeling. It's not an arcade game but rather a gutted FS11 meaning it's a sim but lacking the whole world and ATC. For just planes and scenery it's no Ace Combat by any means and has the best flight modeling of any desktop simulator ever released (it's great with TrackIR, yoke/peddles). I opted to not install the last update as I don't want to see it dumbed down. If there is no real development for it I can only imagine who's doing a so called update for it. My humble opinion!!!! Moving to another sim is not a part of the game for some people IMO. I don't listen to a song because it is a new release. People who listen to Count Basie, The Yellowjackets or Grandfunk Railroad don't have to force themselves to listen Bieber or some other bs. Of course in the community, people long and are happy with new graphics and other newer features. I am not sure if your CAPS LOCK is jammed, but IMO, what makes the developers turn their focus on a software is US, it's not otherwise, I don't care if the developers are turning to Mario Bross, because for some, what we, fs9 users, have are more than enough Sure, what is happening now is the majority has been happy with a newer sim, that's acceptable, what is not is "peer pressure" that tells us to being dictated by the devs or one's opinion instead of our own preference. I can't imagine I'm watching breaking dawn and listening to PSY. Do you?
April 24, 201313 yr IMO, what makes the developers turn their focus on a software is US That's what I said!!! If we will move to another sim then the dev's are force to move with US! I understand you, I now have to play two sims, one is FS9 and is not supported anymore but I already invested lots of $ and FSX because some planes that are develop for it are my favorite planes and don't exist for FS9. April 30, 201313 yr Commercial Member Jon, check on google for info on how to overclock that 2500, it is a very good chip and I bet you could get 4.3ghz on air easily, FSX will run 30+ fps. I run the 2600k at 4.9ghz everything maxed in FSX, heavy weather at UK2000 EGLL with frames locked smooth at 30, if I unlock I get 60+ fps on approach but a strange tearing in the scenery. Only thing not maxed is Water FS9 with Rex, ASE, and every other scenery addon under the sun looks and fly's beautifully on this system. Rob Prest
May 1, 201313 yr It's a non k version so I believe it can't be oc'd. Although I read here and there that it can be no problem. 2500's (non K) have a "limited" locked multiplier so it can OC with a four x multiplier (CPU bins) above default + turbo, for a 2500 that will be four cores active @ 3.8GHz and up to 4.1 with only one core active. 2500K's are unlocked and in theory can overclock to 5.7 although I push 4.8 with no issues and 5.0 for limited benchmarks only... December 6, 201312 yr Hi, sorry for warming up this old thread and not exactly beeing on-topic - but: We discussed the new SSJ-100 for FS9 by venesim.com here. Some days ago I realized that their site is down. Does anybody know where they are now? I was really looking for the final release of the SSJ-100. Thanks and regards, Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.

Some days ago I realized that their site is down. Does anybody know where they are now? I was really looking for the final release of the SSJ-100. Thanks and regards, Harald As far as I understand from their Facebook and Twitter accounts, Venesim is in the process of assembling a new PC, so they're still alive! I wasn't aware that they were working on a final version for the Superjet 100 model, but if that's true, that'd be nice!
