Good old WOAI. They got me started installing AI. Now I am deleting my WOAI packages (started off with close to 900 packages and I am now down to 109) and installing AI on my own.

Guys, sorry to hijack a bit this nice thread. Could I ask you about a tech tips? When you install WoAI, what files and directories are changed?

I am about to install WoAI and I am only doing so to get the model library to use with SB. So, anyone of you gurus know what and where WoAI change existing FSX files or add directories and files?

Appreciate any advice, cheers,

What do I mean??  Geez guy, take a look at any default FSX airport and then look at WingZ's  shots.  FSX=empty, deserted airports.  WOAI  seems to equal busy and realistic airports bursting with activity.  That's what I mean

Settle down. I've asked a simple question, no need to get worked up over it.

WOAI creates aircraft folders, and a traffic file, per package.

started off with close to 900 packages and I am now down to 109

Well given that's about 50% more than WOAI provides, probably a good thing to do some cleanup!

It can get a bit full; I don't have 100% of all WOAI installed, but I see 650 aircraft folders and 8,000 variations.

This can really slow down startup loading times, so I have this running in a separate "Full AI" sim.

Easy to do in FS9, and I believe, possible in FSX.

Thanks WingZ, I'll start with one package to not loose my bearing. Will any of the FSX default files be altered to "call" the traffic in some way?

No the call is done from the traffic file which looks like this (for example)

Traffic_000_WoA_Aegean Airlines_Wi08.bgl

Anyway, I'm sure there is a whole AI discussion area over in the FSX forum to help you sort things out!

Very nice.

Hey guys, I think you can see the advantage of the new screen shot forum rules.  WingZ started an informational thread that generated good discussion and set some misconceptions straight.  Then he added additional images to refocus the discussion.  Great job, guys.  Keep it going, I have learned a lot from this one thread.

I don't remember the exact number of packages I had but it was a lot. (over 500 I think)
