April 10, 201313 yr I also hate how the planes are labeled, I would love to actually have to spot the aircraft myself without a giant red label over every AI airplane. Uncheck the "aircraft labels on" option. I have never seen an AI aircraft label in FSX. I switched this option OFF as soon as I saw it in the menu. April 10, 201313 yr Nope. No labels, nothing. I fly online exclusively, except in rare situations when testing navigation on a new aircraft. April 10, 201313 yr It's fair to say that AI has been a hot topic lately. I find AI to be an fps killer especially if you use My Traffic Pro 5.4b. It takes up 10gigs of drive space, slows down the initial loading of FSX, and I can't even run 20% AI without performance issues. This is using the lower quality models and disabling animations. Running more than 20-25% commercial AI produces unrealistically high levels of AI traffic. I believe that the MyTP 5.4B documentation even states that.
April 11, 201313 yr Running more than 20-25% commercial AI produces unrealistically high levels of AI traffic That isn't the case if you are using UT2. This uses a separate system to other AI Traffic packages, and increasing the frequency to 100% will give you the full list of airline schedules that are in the database. April 11, 201313 yr I have downloaded all of WOAI packages and my ATC program (vox atc) generates it. Its always stunning to see a large airport fully loaded with bright colors. I do feel sorry for on line fliers though I do it myself occasionally and its kind of drab  ZORAN

I could be wrong but roughly with 25% in FSX or P3D, MyT gives you the full commercial schedules. Anything more overloads the gates and adds extra flights. If you like the skies crowded, you can go above the 25% setting.
April 11, 201313 yr This is what Burkhard once wrote about the traffic level for MyTraffic: "Parts of the MyTraffic schedules are based on real world data, and for those airports which are not filled by these additional schedules are calculated on some algorithms. All these for airliners and cargo traffic are above 50%, so at 30% you will only see airliners based on real world data." http://forum.simflight.com/topic/71618-where-should-the-ai-traffic-sliders-be-for-a-realistic-ai-world/ Myself, I run MyTraffic at 35%.
April 11, 201313 yr MyTraffic 5.4b. Or c...? Don't know... Love it though. It's great seeing other airplanes at the gates and driving around after flying for years with default AI and nothing on the ground. I mainly bought it to populate the airports though: I don't care too much for other planes when I am cruising. Anyway, I voted no but the topic title is a bit misleading/wrong, isn't it...?
April 11, 201313 yr Not interested enough to pay for third party AI, and the default AI is simply dire, so i fly without. I don't feel AI adds too much to the experience anyway, especially flying a jetliner. Though i do sometimes turn AI on for taxiing around airports to make it look more realistic then turn it off when i reach the runway. James Bennett
April 12, 201313 yr Part of the enjoyment of flight simulation for me is seeing other planes taxiing, taking off and landing. Waiting in a queue for take off is a thrill to me, and makes the experience more realistic. I also enjoy scanning the stands when I am taxiing in or out, and seeing if there is anything that I have not seen before. I don't know airline schedules like the back of my hands (like some people do), so it's interesting to discover what airlines/aircraft are at the airport when I arrive. I also like listening to the interaction between ATC and other aircraft as they fly to and from their destinations. It all helps to generate a believable world around me. April 12, 201313 yr ... Myself, I run MyTraffic at 35%. I generally run @ 25-30%, mostly because of the hit in fps at big airports. I can't imagine what 100% even looks like, but it sure must be interesting. I have used other AI traffic add-ons previously, but I settled on MyT because of Burk's responsive and congenial software support.
April 12, 201313 yr Out of the ones that votes yes, I wonder how many are actually using 3rd party AI thinking they were just saying yes to using AI aircraft? I know I almost voted yes, til I realized he meant default only! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
