April 9, 201313 yr I'm just wondering how many of you use default AI Traffic in FSX. I never use it because I never use fsx ATC, so I usually end up landing while some other plane is landing right in front of me, and sometimes a plane is on the runway while I'm landing. I also hate how the planes are labeled, I would love to actually have to spot the aircraft myself without a giant red label over every AI airplane. Also, AI planes decrease frames ALOT. thanks for voting ADD: Also, for some reason, I see sometimes two of the same AI Traffic fly immediately right next to each other.. So sometimes I see two 747's seperated by 10 feet landing at the same time.
April 9, 201313 yr I think you'll find most will say no to default AI, but do use 3rd party AI like MyTraffic Ultimate Traffic 2 or the freeware World of AI I use UT2, and sometimes WOAI! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
April 9, 201313 yr I did use third party ai but now I don't use any ai offline. I do use third party ai when flying on pilot edge or vatsim. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
April 9, 201313 yr Moderator I ditched the default AI right from the start and used WOAI exclusively for years until UT2 came out mainly due to the fact that I like real world liveries/traffic, default AI has more FPS hit due to the higher poly models and the fact that the default AI call for jetways which can cause a major slowdown. April 9, 201313 yr UT2. FSX ATC always clears me for touch & go inside the airliner on final...eesh. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
April 10, 201313 yr It's fair to say that AI has been a hot topic lately. I find AI to be an fps killer especially if you use My Traffic Pro 5.4b. It takes up 10gigs of drive space, slows down the initial loading of FSX, and I can't even run 20% AI without performance issues. This is using the lower quality models and disabling animations. This to me was one of the worst purchases. It was a total loss financially for me. I'm seriously considering downgrading to My Traffic 2013, but I'm afraid of wasting my money. I wish there was a demo. I found WOAI to be fantastic, because the models look great, perform well, and you only need to install the airliners you like or want. There's some work involved, but it's not too difficult to do. I found Traffic X to be a good product, easy on fps, less space needed, and the product is expandable. The one thing I don't like is that some of the airliners are placed too close to the terminal or too close to other airplanes. If I had to choose, I would pick Traffic X because you get a ton of airliners, military planes, and GA with one simple install and performance is very good. MSFS
April 10, 201313 yr I also hate how the planes are labeled, I would love to actually have to spot the aircraft myself without a giant red label over every AI airplane. You can disable traffic labels in the FSX traffic settings panel. I use UT2.
April 10, 201313 yr I'm using IVAO's MTL but not sure if this really is to be considered as A I...AI to me is when a computer is behind the steering wheel.
April 10, 201313 yr I don't use AI as I only fly online, but I do use the WoAI models and liveries to represent online traffic vatsim s3
April 10, 201313 yr Commercial Member I'm seriously considering downgrading to My Traffic 2013, but I'm afraid of wasting my money. I wish there was a demo. I think Mytraffic 2013 is just Aerosoft version of Mytraffic 5.4, thus it shouldn't really be any better.

(I know that's not eralistic at all, but I justdon't want to go around just becuase the traffic thinks the aircraft is too fast to leave the RWY, but prefers to taxi half a mile on to the next exit.) April 10, 201313 yr Yes I use AI traffic, but its not the defalut one.. for a better result change it to ai yes or no..
April 10, 201313 yr I do my own AI aircraft and flightplans thanks to a mentor. Adds better quality aircraft and you can tailor it more. Like adding nostalgic aircraft from my good ol days. This is the result. CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,
April 10, 201313 yr I tried the default AI traffic, but there wasn't much traffic and it was not realistic in terms of schedules, routes, or carriers. I switched to UT2, now I have plenty of GA traffic and realistic commercial carriers with scheduled flights and routes.
