August 4, 201312 yr It was integrated into the FMC options menus. I wouldn't say it's missing at all. I like the fact that I don't have to run an external program first to adjust my weights. I know that, but I spoke about an advanced config tool and didn't write that the PMDG 737NGX is completely missing. I like to choose where seating passengers or where loading cargo. Capt. August 4, 201312 yr Just a small question on sounds...with the bumps and thuds of the aircraft on take-off roll and/or taxiing, do you hear bumps, thuds and squeaks while flying through heavy turbulence or such?
August 4, 201312 yr Commercial Member I like to choose where seating passengers or where loading cargo. Not to be smart, but you do know that the pilot doesn't go in the back of the plane and say "hey, I need you - yeah, you in 4A - back in 18B" in aircraft of this size, right? A SAAB or a Dash, maybe. Cargo, sure, but again, the pilot really only says "hey, I need 1000 pounds moved from bin 2 to bin 1." ...both of which are accurate in the current system. Kyle Rodgers

August 4, 201312 yr Hello beta testers, I have a few questions and I would appreciate it if you can answer them: 1) Can hung starts and hot starts be recreated with Autostart "OFF" and failures enabled? 2) Is TAC simulated correctly in the PMDG 777? 3) How does the PMDG 777 feel when doing V1 cuts with TAC "OFF" compared to TAC "ON"? I've heard of people losing control (resulting in runway excursions/crashing) when TAC is lost during sim training. Also please comment on rudder trim usage. 4) Are single-engine Driftdowns accurately simulated, performance wise?
August 4, 201312 yr Author Commercial Member just a few shots from my last flight from San Francisco to Fiji well established in the descent now. Based on questions here about VNAV accuracy my plan is to allow the aircraft to fly all the way to ILS capture in VNAV passing through 6500ft and I have received the cabin ready for landing notification some wing flexing going on as it is hot and choppy outside - a common occurrence in this part of the world! downwind on the published approach, flaps 1 and using VNAV Speed intervention for my target speed. VNAV is right on the money still in VNAV SPD INTV at localiser capture, APP armed, the green "Kermit" arc tells me that I am going to reach target altitude exactly where I want to, over the waypoint where I transition to the ILS. From this point on, VNAV gives way to a standard ILS approach! I hope these few shots help a little for those asking about the autoflight accuracy. - Jane Whittaker
August 4, 201312 yr Commercial Member no words... Oddly contradictory... I was simply making an observation that the implemented process is representative of what an actual pilot would experience. My opinion, which is the reason I phrased my last post the way I did, is that the other way is more like micromanaging the entire process. I don't see the value gained in being able to place people in assigned seats. As a pilot, the only time I care about that is in a small plane where it matters. Kyle Rodgers

Just adding to reason my earlier question. The actual seating of the passengers versus the planned one is not that relevant for the pilot that often in anything bigger than the aircraft you've stated, that's of course true. But the cargo distribution easily is a bit relevant. Not (at least usually) in a life-or-dead way, but way the ULDs or pallets end up being loaded could cause some minute adjustments to your predicted balance, and stuff derived from that (TO trim etc.). Usually (=almost never) the pilot will not need to order a redistribution of the cargo. The final loading would already be checked to be within limits and any of specific notes (i.e. tail heavy aircraft etc.) - if the pilot did, that would probably cause some very major delays - not only for the flight in question, but also to many other flights as well dependent of the same ground crew. I would like to know the actual precision of the loading interface, not that would matter the purchase decision made already. -- Arto Karhu
August 4, 201312 yr Commercial Member Forgive my ignorance, but what is "TAC"? Thrust Asymmetry Compensation #google  Kyle Rodgers
August 4, 201312 yr Author Commercial Member Forgive my ignorance, but what is "TAC"? Ron, it is a wonderful feature of the real 777 (and found in the sim). If you lose an engine on the takeoff roll, the system automatically compensates with automatic rudder inputs to keep the aircraft in a straight line on the runway. - Jane Whittaker
August 4, 201312 yr Dear Jane, someone told me that step climbs with the T7 are automatic like in the MD-11. Is this right? Greetings from Germany, Maurice Kroll
