777 first beta impressions

Featured Replies

Yes, a lot of the Boeing ideology is shared between the 737 and 777 - however I think if you're familiar with the MD11 you'll notice a lot more similarities.

Better get to work familiarizing myself with this bird, I've been wanting to do it for a while now. Looks like I have a valid excuse now.

Thanks a ton for all the pics and info!

I have a question though, if you have experience with the 737NGX, can some of it translate to the 777?(I know they are not type rated but maybe the at least share some features?)

Thanks!

I'd suggest the 744 as a better "approximation" for the 777. The MD-11's overhead panel, MCDU and FCU might be quite misleading in this respect.

But for the 737: Yes, the general outline of Boeings as true pilots's aircraft can be found in the T7, too - even despite all those FBW stuff and flight envelope protections.

I am messing around with "non Normal" situations today and really love the mass of checklists available on the ECL. The non-normal have 16 categories, with multiple checklists in each category. There are an awful lot there, pretty much one for every occasion you never want to see happen!

What about the flight performance, are they correct?

I mean if the FCOM say VR for 220T is 159Kt is the 777X actually rotate at 159Kt, and so on..

Same question for the climb and cruise(FF, thrust, AOA...)

Thanks

all the performance figures are entirely accurate yes

can u show more about overheard panel ?

Awesome!!! Jane,

i have a question: How much passengers can i carry with this aircraft? Someone told me that the Default Maximums are 14 first class passengers, 48 Business Class passengers and 172 economy passengers in the PMDG T7 (A beta tester told me that). But is there an Option in the FMC to Change the Maximum capacity of passengers like it is possible in the NGX? Maybe we can choose between a three class configuration and two class configuration in the FMC Settings? It would be nice because a Maximum of 234 passengers (14First/48Business/172Economy) is very few for a big plane like the 777-200LR. You can read a typical seating capacity of 301 passengers in a three class configuration.

It would be so nice if you can have a look for These Options for me!

A long time ago Robert posted something like: 'Yes, we did this incredible thing'. Is it clear what he meant by yhat?

You can check various airline options online, but definitely airlines have more seating capacity that that.

Emirates and AirCanada take a load of 270 passengers.

While the 773 and 77W seats up to 370 passengers in a two-class seating configuration.

I saw two pictures of a virtual cabin. Is that like NGX quality or an actual (good) virual cabin? I would like that!

I'm not sure if this has been answered already, but can both mcdu's be used seperately, or is the right one (as on the NG) "only" for setting up the sim?

As I understand it the EFB won't be included, are there any plans to add it later (patch, SP1)?

Oh, boy it really looks terrific, I guess just going through all the checklist will be hours of fun :-)

I don't always stop and look at airplanes.........Oh wait, Yes I do.

Intel I7-13700F, 32GB Fury DDR5 - 6000, Kingston 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, Asus Geforce RTX 4070 TI 12GB, Kingston 2TB M2 NVMe SSD, Corsair 750W PCU, Windows 11

If I remember well they have stated like this:

Hi, yes, they will include, but just later. They said the reason why 777 at the release won't because the of the high prices if including all the charts in the whole world. They're looking for cheaper solution and prior they have it, they'ill talk 'bout it but not only for the 777 but for the upcoming 747 v2 and by a new update to the 737NGX. If I remember well they have stated like this.

Balint Szarka

CPU Intel i9 9900K OC'd to 5Ghz

RAM 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000MHz (2 x 16GB)

GPU 8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2070 SUPER

Three of them - and since it's neither a MD-11 nor an Airbus forget about the 'M' in 'MCDU'!   :P

Its great to have all these checklists but are the failures for all the checklists simulated? And I know it is probably to late but an awesome feature would be to have like a green bar warning(like default FSX atis) to let us know when the wing are supposed to get ripped of or the fuselage disintegrated during *ehem* atmospheric reentry *ehem*. A funny message like "Playing fighter jet pilot are we?"

FMC wise the 744 is obviously the best option, but maybe the automation of the systems approximate more to the md11?

There are three and they may be used separately.  The 3rd (rear) is essentially relegated to the cabin intercom, and DSP control functions, though.
