I am not a Radar Contact user, but this post forced me to have one of those "reset moments" when stress was building and I was not seeing clearly. Nicely put - enjoy each moment.  Good luck to all of you.

May God bless both of you for the contributions you've made to this great hobby and for the decisions you have made.  Apparently, He already has...

Hi John, I understand 110%, you are making the right decision. Of course we'll be disappointed that v5 isn't around the corner, but that doesn't mean we are unhappy with your decision.  I think any of us would have made the same choice that you are making.  I'm very happy that things have worked out for your family - the clear weather after the storm has arrived. Here's wishing you guys the very best now and in the years and decades to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps I'm still using V4 and loving it - what a great product.

Firstly, thanks for the update John.  I recently have been going through some personal issues over the past 2 years, and while I still doubt myself more often than not, I can say with 100% certainty that I wouldn't have come out the other side without my friends and family to hold me up.

Secondly, keep on keepin' on.  No one that understands the value of family and friendships could second guess your decision.  I'm glad I could purchase Radar Contact and, while it may not have made much of a dent, I'm glad it went to a good cause to help you in your situation. I still use RC on every single flight.

John and Doug,

thank you very much for your great program! I do every flight with it!

You both made the right decision, and its a great thing, that you dont stop support for it!

I wish you all the best!!!

Thank you!

I still use RC4.3 and it still does a fabulous job compared to whats out there.

I never fly without it :)  As for V5: I don't have to wonder and hope anymore. If it comes available, it will be a nice surprise ;)

Family is the most important thing in life. I have 2 children, I mean, adults, now in university. And a wonderfiul wife. The fact that you guys found the time to create RC and give continued support, takes time; time away from family. Thanks for making our hobby more enjoyable. I am sorry it may have taken time away from your loved ones.

Family is most important and I applaud your decision to focus on them.  It's hard to give up something you love doing, even for a while.  I understand.  I have Multiple Sclerosis and have had it for 25 years.  It has only been recently that it has really started taking it's toll.  I've had to give up a lot as I've lost mobility.  That said, I'm also finding new things.  After not simming for 20+ years, I've rediscovered Flight Sim and all the wonderful addons like RC4.  I think I'll be able to to this a while.  So, keep your chin and spirits up, enjoy your family, and come back to RC5 when you are ready and able.

Hi JD,

I am happy for you---there is really nothing more to say---I am happy for you and your family.

My very kindest of thoughts and hope for nothing but good things in the future

Cheers

Dorn

FYI:

Rick resigned from jdtllc.com many years ago to devote himself to personal goals.

JD, we recently had a FAA inspector in our home built 757 simulator and the gentlemen was amusingly taken back by the realism of RC. While it had little impact in what we were attempting to demonstrate to him, I will always remember how impressed he was with the realism of the program, i.e. Instructions, phraseology, restrictions, etc. In fact, it's often amazing when real life aviation experts see the sim and just remark how different facets of the simulator are incredibly real. Programs like Level-D, Evolution, etc. it is like they have no idea of what is going on in our little world of virtual simulation. Any way, I wish you well my friend and hope all the best for you and yours. Family will, and always should be, the forefront of our decision making. God Bless sir.
