September 24, 201312 yr Hmmm, now I got the clickspot issue, and FSX also crashes after flying for 10-15 minutes. I never had the clickspot issue before the patch... I had the clickspot problems with the release version and also after patch 1.02. Scott, is your proposed fix for this built into 1.02 or should I install it seperately? We are testing updates via our 172 tech forum you can grab the latest update from there as the on going investigations for the issue go on with us at A2A, PMDG and also the Flight1 chaps I believe all no doubt trying to figure out exactly whats happening. We think we are a little closer to the cause of the issue but cannot say for certain yet. thanks, Lewis Lewis - A2A Simulations

I have the clickspot issue quite often, so if it starts working for me it should be a good sign! And now a TOTALLY different question! Does anyone know of a simple way to hook up my Dave Clark headset to the ordinary line out and microhpone connectors you have on a computer? I want to take the 172 experience to a new level! September 24, 201312 yr Commercial Member What Jack do they use? So long as they dont require phantom power or anything you can normally pick up an adapter on the cheap for the various jack sizes and even studio grade XLR. thanks, Lewis Lewis - A2A Simulations
September 24, 201312 yr Anyone still have the stuck in the mud issue after the patch? Yes, I can't even move, so I went back to 1.01 which works for me.
September 24, 201312 yr I also noticed that the c172 is harder on performance after the patch, before the patch I could hold a constant 30FPS, now it often drops down to 20 and the flight is not as smooth as it used to be. Hope they can fix the stuck in the mud issue, as it gets annoying when having to stop the flight just because I got stuck in the mud or because of loosing clickspots. It's a great plane, too bad these issues can ruin the expirience.. But all these issues aside Im enjoying this plane very much and after it came out I have only flown this plane, I just can't get enough of it even with the annoying bugs, It's that good B)

September 24, 201312 yr You need the correct adapter for an aviation headset or you can damage circuitry. They do work as my old flight school uses this with a red Bird.
September 24, 201312 yr Anyone know where I can get the previous patches before the 1.022 patch? The latest patch is giving me huge performance issues, at first I tought I could live with it, but when frames drop down from 30 to 3 FPS in areas that are useally very FPS friendly(Orbx NZ) and the plane becomes unflyable Im giving up. :( I rather go back to the "worse stuck in the mud" issue than flying in a slideshow...

Guys, sorry for my laziness asking first without doing a search  I found a few options and this is the most intriguing one: Flight Sound X It has a built in sound card and USB connection and seems to have received very favourable reviews. On a slightly different note, I tried attaching my Track Clip Pro (Track IR) to the Dave Clark headset and to my very big surprise, TrackIR worked MUCH better than with my logitech wireless headset! No more flipping the views up side down when tilting my head upwards! B) Cool! Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
September 25, 201312 yr Flight Sound X It has a built in sound card and USB connection and seems to have received very favourable reviews. I'd be very interested in hearing from someone that has done this. $80 is an awful lot of money to pay so that you can use a headset that may not even sound as good as cheap computer headset. I hope your Dave Clark headset is more comfortable than mine. Jim Shield Cybersecurity Specialist

Kaboki did you try the tweak Scott posted on A2A forums? I hope that works for you! Thankfully I haven't had the FPS drop myself, but that's a horrible problem to have to run into.

I'm sure there's nothing wrong with this product, but I agree that it's a premium price for what's basically a USB soundcard and the appropriate plugs. Small market, high price - I get that, but wow... Krister, I'm also curious as to why? My David Clamps er, Clarks, are not something I'm anxious to wear at my desk where I just don't need that level of noise attenuation. Scott
September 26, 201312 yr Some expensive aviation headsets, are the type that fit into the ear. They effectively plug much of the noise from the engine. Since engine noise isn't a problem, for flight simulation, a much cheaper pair of in ear phones, would accomplish the same realism. I'd rather do that, that pay for new audio cards to run my clamp on aviation headsets.

I hope your Dave Clark headset is more comfortable than mine. I do agree it's A LOT of money for what you get, but as stated it's a small niche market. I did order them today (and it was more than USD 80 here in Finland) despitE already having a logotech USB wireless headset which works pretty nicely. My reasoning was, besides the obvious ie being a new gadget is that I noticed TrackIR behaving vastly better for reason I don't quite understand and that it's one step closer to the experience I have when flying IRl. I also figured I'll bring it to the local flight club where we will soon start doing some RT training in front of the simulator. Same thing there, being able to use the same headset as when we fly IRL. I realize these are quite weak points trying to justify the pretty high price, but that.s the way I am! LOL. The Dave Clark headset is is not as comfortable as the logitech being much tighter around the ears and heavier, but it's not that bad! Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
