September 14, 201312 yr Author Well, I really don't know if I want anything updated but the turn coordinator. After having taken my time to properly set and calibrate my control axis through FSUIPC, the A2A C172 is flying so great, manually and in AP, with any load such as just the pilot and no luggage, or the 4 pax plus 20 kg luggage, that I wouldn't say this was the same model I tested the day I bought and installed it. The same applies to takeoff and landings. The breakaway power problem is solved for my by cycling the parking brake. If this get's fixed in a better way, than that will be welcomed as well :-) Anyway, any update from A2A will be welcomed, and if in the future we can have those prop effects done inside of accusim, then that will be PERFECT!!!! Good to know, JC, as I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on this one...I'm too big of a A2A fan (P51, P40, Spit, B17, Piper Cub) to be able to ignore it, but have been holding back as issues get resolved. Thanks for the tips. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
September 15, 201312 yr Well, I really don't know if I want anything updated but the turn coordinator. I almost forgot what a turn coordinator was. It was a very heavy gyro instrument (the heaviest in the panel), that I replaced with a very light weight auto-pilot instrument. It also made a wirring sound, as I remember. The A/P guage face, had a built in "ball"..........because it was intended to replace the turn coordinator. It also had an electronic turn depiction, if you really wanted to look at it. In the meantime, I could just push a button, and the plane would do an automatic 180 degree turn, with pre-set maximum bank angles.
September 15, 201312 yr +1 on the turn coordinator, that's one of the few things I think MUST be fixed. Especially on an aircraft that's marketed as a RW trainer AND entertainment product. Not so important in real world flying, as you learn to "feel" uncoordinated flight, but in FSX theres no seat of the pants feel... so this is a fairly important thing to fix I'm happy they're releasing an update that adds the P-factor and torque though, that will be a welcomed addition! I will say, I find the FM pretty nice, though I'm using a PFC yoke (I will add, if you're a serious flight simmer/RW pilot, consider investing in one!) We spend so much money on addons, but seldom spend the money on higher end controls. I may hook up my old Saitek yoke and give it a test, I'm sure that plays a role in the issues people are having with control sensitivity. I never did have an enjoyable experience with the plastic Saitek/CH yokes, especially when practicing IFR prodedures, making fine coorecitons with the Saitek was a losing battle ha! Anyway, a GREAT release even considering the problems, and have no doubt A2A will continue to fix the issues until (most) everyone is happy! Ty J. Peres - KBZN
September 16, 201312 yr Dang have to wait another day to have funds for this. In the mean time could one of my flightsim brethren that bought this do me a favor and fly the 172 late in the afternoon and see if the sun looks normal when viewed out the front and sides of the vc. i.e. no shooting light beams like in the legacy. Thanks I got that as well. I can't trace it when it appeared... Sorry if I'm spoiling your fun, but why did you pay fifty bucks for a 172? What more does it have than the others for twenty bucks? I mean even the other planes from A2A are almost half price from this and yet at least half sexier?

Realistic simulation of the engine and other systems. If you don't operate it properly it will break. excellent flight model. fully controllable night lighting ( important to me I do a lot of night flying) Avionics are fully functional.... I could go on. It's not about flying a sexy plane or a fast plane this plane is about fully simulating a trainer plane any of us could rent... The 172 is a plane I COULD own in RL ( A older one than a R) I am never going to own a mustang or a Legacy or anything like that so for me flying and taking care of a 172 in the sim is a lot of fun. September 16, 201312 yr It's a remarkable add-on, and time will show this :-) And... what A2A is planning to do next, is even better :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
September 16, 201312 yr Its hard to break irl, so it should be quite simple systemwise-not much to model. Like my 1966 Beetle back in eighties, air-cooling and all... But just wanted to understand the hype around this plane. I guess its the DC-3 of general aviation, an icon.
September 16, 201312 yr Sure it's not a 777 but there is quite a bit to model if you intend to simulate the plane properly. For example you use the real manuals for the avionics, It does not just start every time like other FS GA planes I have used. A walk around and checklist are needed... This is way deeper then a typical carnardo it looks good but nothing under the skin add-on. If that is not for you maybe later on A2A will make a accusim faster GA plane. September 16, 201312 yr What other planes will have the plugs foul if you don't lean the mixture correctly? The electronics operate exactly as the real ones do. So much so that they provide you with the real Bendix manuals. The electronics are also the as delivered models which as they explain are not usually updated in most 172's. The only problem I have had was getting my PFC hardware all calibrated. FSUIPC was used in most areas. Tom
September 16, 201312 yr A2A has just released update v 1.01 for the C172. Hope this will help those having issues. http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=36436 Lyn
