September 28, 201312 yr Because 32 bit program. Once FSX tries to count more than 2 to the power of 32, it stops. Stops counting, stops running. Flying the current NGX, on a flight from Aerosoft EHAM, over NL2000 Netherlands to FTX Eu England and UK2000 EGLL using ActiveSky weather during a rain storm with overcast and CB over england, that 32 bit VAS gets pretty full. If it gets totally full... bie bie FSX, hello desktop. Unless someone makes a new Flightsim in 64bit, adding detail somewhere has to be offset by reducing detail somewhere else. This is why running high texture detail clouds and a 6+ LOD over photoreal scenery over/near/into the likes of FlyTampa/FSDT/Orbx type sceneries leads to Out of Memory errors. Your computer can be fast as anything out there, as soon as FSX is asked to do more things than it's 32 bit VAS limit. *ERROR* 130+ "passengers" are just more 3d modeled things contributing to that limit. 3d modeled things that are inside the aircraft that you can hardly even see unless you move your camera views into new and weird places. I'd prefer the odd sound be played to indicate that they're all there, safely locked away behind the cockpit door being sat/briefed/fed etc at the appropriate times, and not my problem. Dealing with customers directly sucks anyway, especially low cost carrier customers, winging about delays, how they had to pay more to take bags with them, etc etc... Let the attendants do their job, and if any passengers try to get into the cockpit, then the cops will meet them on arrival  Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator

September 29, 201312 yr Are you flying the airplane or sitting in the cabin? If it is a "realistic" feeling you are seeking you would stay in the cockpit during flight instead of jumping into the cabin or outside to have a look around. PMDG models what matters - the functions of the airplane. Whether you can see them or not, the passengers are there in weight. As Kyle has said in previous posts... weight is weight, doesn't matter if it's feathers, bricks or passengers. What is more difficult simulating how and aircraft flies plus all the systems, controls, etc etc. Or simulating passengers. Why would I want a passenger flight simulator. All I need to do is to board a flight and I can "simulate" it for real!! Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA

September 29, 201312 yr The 777 does also have a "Cabin ready" annunciation. Good enough for me... Other than that, I can use some addons. I think even FS2Crew include some CC interaction. --Peter Fabian
September 30, 201312 yr Do you think real world pilots complain about not being able to see their passengers when they are flying in full motion simulators? No, they do not. Because the pilots know they are back there in weight whether they can be seen or not. Ben Weaver SWA8485
September 30, 201312 yr Maybe, it's because they know who the pilots are, and choose another means of transportation! Kevin M. Manley
October 3, 201312 yr try with the j41 first, you can take a few passengers but they're ugly people so be warned. Ugly, but famous There is also the TF2 Medic in the cabin, but this guy is the Heavy! ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
October 3, 201312 yr Great! My million dollar idea: Flight Attendant Sim 2013!Ask passengers to turn off phones!Cream or Sugar?Etc! Have you seen my signature banner? I've already got the PMDG 777 version!!! Paul Cordogan
October 6, 201312 yr Our today's computers are not fast enough or people is horrible bad simulated=> Good answer, we give it a try after one year again. The computers could be i9's with 999999999999GHZ processors and 52 billion exobytes of ram running a trillion GB video card. If you are using FSX, you are on a 32 bit program that stops counting once the Virtual Addressing space reaches 4gb. At that point the simulator stops, and you can close it, or it will close itself. It's not a case of trying again next year, it's a case of having a new simulator that isn't FSX. 32 bit programming = only 4 gigabytes of things can be 'addressed' (aka, given a unique identifier to process). 64 bit programming = several thousand exobytes of things can be 'addressed' I had it explained like this once: A 16 bit program is like having a post-it note. You can write stuff on the post-it-note but you run out of space pretty quickly. You can't write a novel on it. A 32 bit program is like having a tennis court. Lots and lots of space to cover. A 64 bit program is like having the entire continent of Australia. How many tennis courts can you fit in Australia before you run out of space and fall out of the edges? billions. 64 looks like "double" 32, but it's not what it's referring to. It's "The power of" 64. so binary (2) to the power of 1 is 2, 2 to the power of 2 is 4, 2 cubed is 8, 2 to the power of 4 is 16, and it goes exponentially up from there. 2 to the power of 31 (32 bit) is 4294967295 (and to flight simulator X, 4294967295 + 1 = Out of Memory Error it doesn't matter if those bytes are tied up telling the FMS how to work or painting the left eye of that hot chick in seat 27B blue, a bit is a bit.) So 32 bit is 4294967295 (4GB) 64 bit is 9223372036000000000 (approximatley) That's 922337203GB 922337203 instead of 4. Without making an entire new flight simulator program, we are stuck with 4. October 6, 201312 yr It seems to be a tubal issue. I now fly my own fantasy GA flights and I always load spouse, and guests when appropriate based on my fantasy of the day. I do pay strict adherence to weight and balance, including fuel. Get back to your roots and this will cease to be an issue.
