Very less populated airports with Ultimate Traffic 2

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

I have installed Flight 1's Ultimate Traffic 2 version 2.09 (along with all service packs and seasonal schedules and setting both Commercial Traffic Density  and General Aviation Traffic Density tabs in UT2's Traffic Options to 100 ) but the airports are very less populated with aircrafts ( both parked and moving)  in comparison with two other programs I had installed previously (WOAI and My Traffic X 2013).I tried many many airports in the world with free and payware addon sceneries but the results were the same. Can someone tell me what's wrong with this program? And is there any way to merge UT2 with WOAI?

Did you wait a few minutes to let the action start? IIRC, the UT2 manual states that you will need to wait a bit for UT2 to inject traffic.

Regarding the other question, I believe I've read on various occasions that it is possible to merge UT2 and WOAI, but I don't use that progrma, so I'm not the person who can tell you how. However, I'm sure there will soon be some others here who can tell you how to do it.

Good points from Flo. You could check if that's an issue of the actual settings or injection process or if the data lacks for a specific airport. Just start the UT2 main program and check the schedules for the airport in question. If those are full and your sim stays empty.. technical problem. If your schedule doesn't read much traffic in the first place you would have get better/more data.

I've never spend much time on creating user content in UT2 but I think you can populate certain places by hand. The schedules being sold are bound to what the (raw data) supplier delivers, if I got the devs right. Means there isn't any leverage as to incorporating certain airlines and places over what's now available.

Lots of posts and ideas on the UT2 support itself. Try there.

There are many reasons you see few aircraft. For starters the latest flight plans for purchase at flight1 are broken and the developer told everyone to go screw themselves because they were daring to ask to fix the bugs.

Secondly, UTX injects traffic in a different way than woai, in woai and every other ai package, you always see the aircraft once their flight is over for the day, while utx only loads airplanes that will fly soon.

Go through your database list and notice all the missing repaints even of the big carriers. It's quite embarrassing really that Flight1 would be so greedy with this addon and never bother to properly fix the bugs and release a complete product for sale.

If you can run UT2 with 100% set on GA and Airline traffic and your computer doesn't melt into a puddle slagged metal and silicon at a busy airport, I shall salute you!   I turned off GA traffic completely and pulled Airliner down to 70% in order to make FSX flyable with my other add-ons going and NGX.

You do have to wait for the traffic to populate.   This should not take longer than a minute.   Aircraft will also only appear if they are meant to appear that the time of day you are flying.   They are flying the real flight plans of the real flights for that day and time of the month.   So if you are taking off at 4am you are not going to see a lot of traffic around you.

Thank you very much, best info re. UT2  - now I´ll re-install WOIA, again!

AFAIK UT2 is no longer supported, so forget about that, never understood the empty airports at night, and the 20 min. prior traffic injection, stupid IMO.

Oh, forgot: You won´t see planes over the seas, Atlantic, Pacific etc.

in relation to traffic and I have been using UT2 for years, say for example you are at JFK, take 5-10 minutes to get some action, so just be patient, but it will come on. I usually set it to 70% at best, 100% never ever, slide show here you go!!!

theres  a support forum on UT2.

In my opinion is a great program, you can always download schedules in TT format and upload them into UT2 with powerpack and assign liveries to it.  It makes about 5 mins at most to do it.

Near on every post from people saying they dont like it are people who havnt tried or looked into changing or adding schedules

Ive had it 2 years, its an amazing piece of kit

correct, but if you have fsaddon converter and you run dx10 with steve dx fixer this solves the problem,

trust me its a good piece of kit and im the worlds worst critic on fs addons

At least in UT2 planes fly proper routes over land instead of direct flight from point A to point B. Lack of planes over Atlantic, Pacific doesn't really bother me that much anyway as I mostly do something else on long haul flights & most of the times you wouldn't happen to see any of them anyway.

Personally I find UT2 great also because it gives me a good interface to handle different airlines, their fightplans, fleets etc, it's very easy to add new ones through the Power Pack too.

After I took the time of installing missing paints & adding new airlines UT2 sure beats what Mytraffic and WOAI easily, I think UT2 is worth it only if you are willing to spend the time of adding missing paints/models/some airlines.

Sheesh...if I set traffic to 100 in UT2 my airports are overloaded with traffic and I can't even get a word in with ATC. Something is very wrong on your end my friend.
