RE:  The excellent Baytower VANS RV-7 for FSX

 

I checked In at the BT forum and it doesn't seem to have any activity.  At one time Danny said when he got a real job and found some time he would try to come up with an alternate (as in Male) pilot figure.  Heidi with the fake ear-to-ear smile is wearing a little thin.  The options are no pilot or cheerleader.

 

I sure would like to see some gifted soul come up with an alternate.

LOL!!!    Yeah, I've asked numerous times in the forum for a replacement pilot figure as well.

 

I ended up just clicking on the option to have the external view not show her at all.

Reminds me of Emily W. in the Columbia Flightvideoproductions video..

It is not that she is not attractive for a 16 year old or a high school cheerleader, it is just that she does seem to fit the mold as a homebuilt hotrod pilot.  Maybe if she were an alternate and not the ONLY choice.

Ray, without access to the source file(s) for this model, there is absolutely nothing that can be done aside from simply hiding the female pilot.

I suppose one could add a mustache and short beard, and heavier eyebrows, but those "twin headlights" would be a bit tough to disguise. :LMAO:

I have had no luck in removing those "creatures" in the copilot seat of some of the downloaded freeware aircraft over the years. Not sure what the developers were on at the time, but I guess free is free and you get what you pay for. To pay for such an intentional mishandling of customer base wish-list (as in "I wish for a pilot that resembles a human form") is up to the buyer - is hiding him/her realistic? No. Is it a showstopper? Again, no. It is what it is.

I have a freeware RV-7 that suits me just fine for now - I looked at this Baytower model to purchase just recently and decided that my $40 is going to have to go toward a future purchase of the PMDG 737 NGX instead. (My FS money is very tight these days - talking to the "boss" and promising her things doesn't work anymore).

 

Would it do any good for a bunch of buyers to lobby Baytower for a patch that would replace that her with a him? I have zero experience with Baytower products/support.
